The room was clean. The location is good, very close to the subway, and not too far from Rome Termini Station (around 1 station from Termini station, 10 minutes walking). But there is nothing much nearby, but there are some mini marts (maybe Asian minimarts). The lady at the reception was pleasant and friendly, she also suggested us where should... More

The receptionist and the lady who servs breakfast (buffet included in the price)are lovely, the place is clean, and is easy to take the subway (less than a block) to go everywhere and is near by the Colisseum.

I visited Rome for 5 days and was looking for the best deal in the centre of the city. I didn't take the chiepest option thus I was waiting from Santa Maria Inn for a better quality for this price. Breakfast is a joke, very poor quality! It is better to have one good cookie than pastry from a freezer.... More

Rocked up at around 7pm and the fella told us we were late. Apparently when we booked it we told them we would be there at 11am. We later found out that there isn't anyone on reception unless they are expecting a guest. This is the main and only reason we have given it a 4 star and not a... More

It's unlikely that all of the rooms are the same in this establishment. We were lucky enough to be given a corner room which was large, clean and light filled. The room had three windows which afforded views which, with a little effort, could be described as attractive. Although the room was a bit worn I would say it represented... More

The room itself was really nice and clean. The same can not be said about food served for breakfasts. Even though served nicely the quality is disastrous. The Indian guy who in charge of check in has lack of communication and charged us extra fee for the reason of being late with no clear explanation of how to get the... More

We stayed 3 nights. It's a kind of rented apartments in a Good location, frendly stuff, but the cleaning inside the room was not so good. Breakfast was quite ok. On the little balcony of our room there were the air condition units for more then 3 rooms and the noise was very unpleasant. There was a site on the... More

This hotel was perfect for our few nights stay in Rome. Location was ten minute walk from the termini train station and about a 15 min Walk from the Colosseum. Hotel was clean with good WiFi in room. Bathroom a bit small. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was nice too! I'd recommend this hotel :)

We stayed for 4 nights and from the staff we got everything we asked (also nice smile and care during all stay) so thanks for that! The inside of hotel - newly renovated and clean. Rooms are quite big, with tv, small fridge. Maybe only the location is an issue to consider - the plus that it is near centre... More

It was the first time in Rome for both my girlfriend and myself, so we wanted to be close to everything, and that's exactly what we got with Santa Maria B&B. We stayed 4 nights. This is in a very good location, near a lot of restaurants. Extremely close to a metro, which was very convenient! Walking distance to all... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
