I have not exaggerated at all in my review, we had a genuinely horrific stay. We were backpacking and had cheap accommodation everywhere but this was not worth the cheap price. The most notable consequence of staying here was that our whole group has come home with bed bug bites, and have had to have all our clothes fumigated. The... More

Mould on rooms and bathroom, flavor terrible, unhealthy place, this "hostel" must to be closed. The woman who welcome the customers lives there in a closet. I was scared at first when we arrived there... Fortunately others were there.. we were around 15 in this place! Its not an hostel its looks like an appartement. And insects in bed !!!!

Staff, although spoke little English, was more than willing to help out with anything we asked about-places to go in Rome, extra towels, and kitchen knives. The room was considerably big for a family of four with a king sized bed and bunk bed. It even had a terrace! There was a private bathroom with hot water and the hotel... More

The owners of the guest house were very friendly. Not the most helpful, since only one of them spoke a little English, but they tried. The location is not in the best part of town if you are a small group of girls, but if you are a large group or have some guys with you, you will be fine.... More

Dino hostel is the worse hostel we have ever experience while travelling Europe! We have booked a room for 4 people but was told there that the room reserved for us is only for 2 people. They then insisted on charging us (per person) a higher price for the room for 4 people. The staff at the main building (the... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
