Yes, it is run by one man, but with all negative sides of this it is a small, cheap hotel with charm. It is close to Colosseum, but not so near city center, so don't stay here if you don't like to walk around. In front of this hotel is Merulana cafe, with great food and cheap local wine! Perfect... We stayed at Chroma Dyo in late June and it was a positive experience for us. It is situated on a lovely, leafy street, and is a 2 minute walk from the nearest train station. As previous reviews have said, the front of the hotel doesn't have a large sign, but we did our research beforehand and looked at the... More

The hotel is very close to the coliseum. Though the building is very old, the rooms are modern and value for money. The hotel is completely run by a one man army but he handles all your concerns. The breakfast is always same menu and you may get a cold coffee once in a while ( one man army problem... More

If you're expecting a standard hotel with a large sign, main lobby, and constantly attended reservation desk, you'll be disappointed with Chroma Dyo. As others have pointed out, the entrance is a small wooden door, indistinguishable from that of a private residence, and when we arrived it was locked. There was no buzzer to ring, and we only got in... More

I cannot say enough about Chroma Dyo. When we first arrived I had my reservations as the front door did not resemble a normal entrance. However when we entered into the Courtyard and checked into our rooms they were spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. As we were looking for somewhere to stay last minute it also proved to be the... More

We stayed at this hotel in Sept 2012 for a week. For the money that we paid, it was clean, modern decor, safe, TV cable, modern AC unite, breakfast every morning, a balcony, and even though it was a 4 key system, at least it felt safe. I don't understand what people expect for such an affordable price!!! You are... More

This hotel was the worst experience and do not recommend at all for any type of traveller. The staff do not answer emails or telephone calls once the booking has been confirmed. On arrival, it is hard to find the hotel, as there is no sign, apart from a piece of printed paper stuck on the wall next to the... More

I did a lot of research into hotels in Rome and settled on this one. It was very beautiful and individually designed rooms, We stayed in the purple themed room, it was large and very tastefully decorated. However, as Chroma Dyo is in a very busy area it was very noisy in the middle of the night and I had... More

Stayed from May 5-9. I try to keep my reviews short and simple, so here goes. The good: Close to colisseum, other attractions Safe and secure Reasonably priced 1 block from hospital Staff was friendly, although Rosa speaks ZERO english. The bad:1 block from hospital, heard ambulances running sirens 2-3 times an hour, EVERY hour. Reception only on duty 7am-2pm.... More
