It seemed very promising to stay in Hip Suites hotel who claim they're "the best stay in Rome" but we had a very bad experience staying there last week. Every thing went wrong: The room they gave us was not very welcoming. It was very small and not clean enough, everything was old, peeling, not painted and with mole. On... More

Easy to find just by the tram stop 'Belli', the room was spacious enough for two of us, overlooking the street, which was really quaint. Very clean looking, being all white, with a really comfy bed, the hotel was in a good location. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in the vicinity, which was great as we walked everywhere... We stayed in 2 suites in September. The rooms are beautifully decorated with fabulous bathrooms. Tomaso was so helpful with information before and during our stay ... With fantastic restaurant recommendations. The small entry foyer to our rooms has an espresso machine which was lovely. The only consideration is there is nowhere to sit and relax - not really a... Stayed here for my first night arriving in Rome and was greeted by the lovely Tomaso who helped me with my bags and told me all about the local area. He showed me to my room- which was small but very cool. The shower was powerful and hot, there is wifi, and I had the best nights sleep I've had... More

We were looking for the perfect location, as we just had a short weekend in Rome. Thats how we came across Hip Suites. It was such a good decision to stay there and added a lot of value to that weekend. Vanessa, the host was just super nice. She made sure, we felt very welcomed at the place and helped... More

Hip suites is clean and simple. The staff are extremely helpful, friendly and responsive. The actual place itself is in a street that is easy to find and is also in a great neighbourhood with heaps of cool restaurants and interesting shops. It is away from all the hustle and bustle, but not too far away that you could not... More

The hotel is located in Trastevere, a great neighborhood. It is a basic hotel, great staff (although they are not there 24/7). They helped us purchasing tickets for attractions and with transportation. They leave a laptop on your room for your personal use and wifi is free. Breakfast is not in the hotel. You get a ticket for a coffee/tea... More

If you want to stay at a Central Place in Rome you should take a close look at Hip Suites in Trastevere. Nice room, well sleeping and most of the time to see everything there is in this historic city. (Didn't reach all the 900 churches, but anyway...) History, food, pulse of the life and yet you can have a... More

We had an excellent stay. The place is modern and very clean The location is absolutely fantastic (Rome's loveliest district) and the staff is friendly, especially Tomaso, who is particularly helpful and knows his city so well.

This hotel (B&B) was wonderful. It is in the perfect location. There is no restaurant on site but the hotel gives you a voucher with your choice of two restaurants very near by (less than 1 block) for breakfast. The people at the desk were helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make sure our stay was... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
