I loved Hip Suites as it is well situated in the heart of Trastevere. Even though this part of town seldom sleeps, you can close your windows and have a sound and silent sleep. The hosts are very helpful and friendly. As they don't have their own communal facilities, you use breakfast vouchers which gives you the option of three... More

Incredibly well located. Small very clean modern rooms. No lobby or common space but very affordable and a perfect way to know Trastevere. Fantastic staff that will help via email or while you're there for any planning or reservations you need. Very very satisfied. Wish the rooms were bigger, but hey, you're in Rome and they are fine.

Simple yet charming hotel in the middle of Trastevere. The staff was very helpful and gave us really good advice. There are many nice restaurants close by the hotel in this bohemian part of Rome. Be aware that it can be a bit noisy with a room towards the plaza with all the bars and restaurants. Breakfast was served by... More

Friendly staff, great location. Ours maybe not the best room and single bed a little cramped! Clean room, no mugs for tea but kettle supplied. Breakfast included by voucher from cafe next door but didn't use it. If you want a convenient no-frills-place from which to visit Rome then Hip Suites is worth considering. I would return.

Our stay in Hip Suites was a very nice experience! The location is great: all the nice restaurants and bars in Trastereve are nearby, there's almost no car traffic in this neighbourhood. Although Hip Suites is located in the center of Rome's restaurants/nightlife, our room was very quiet (we could even sleep with open windows). There is some ambient noice... More

We stayed three nights at Hip Suites and enjoyed it very much. This small hotel is located right in the heart of Trastevere with easy access to all the main sights in the city. We received a thorough introduction to the city with regards to transport, places to eat great Italian food and ice cream, some less well known sights... More

I stayed at Hip Suites for one night only. I found the staff to be pleasant and helpful, the room to be very clean and perfectly sized. There was air conditioning which was definitely a must during the heat of July! Located right in the quaint cobbled streets of Trastevere, their location is definitely a selling point. Breakfast is included,... More

I stayed here twice and I like it very much. I love Trastevere and if it is possible I will stay here in a futury surely. My room was small but I slept very well. Because the bed is really big and comfortable. The staff is sooooo friendly.

I went with my parents who are on the older side for 3 nights and had the apartment. The host Tomaso was very nice and extremely helpful in his restaurant suggestions and especially his tips and hints for how to visit vatican city and the colliseum in the best possible way with the least amount of time spent in line.... We stayed at the Hip Suites our first night in Italy prior to joining a tour group. I chose Hip Suites based on the reviews of others and was glad that I did. It was very clean, quiet (even though the street below was busy) and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We did use their driver service and... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
