Once you have stepped through the green door, you have entered an authentic escape from the hustle and bustle of the tourist trail. The key tag ‘Home Sweet Home’ says it all. Francesco and his staff at the Relais Maddalena offer extremely professional and personal service. The photos on the website certainly did not do our room justice. Once we... More

We had one night in Rome and since it was the first night on our trip, we were really hoping for a good nights sleep and to see some sights. The location was prefect, made it easy to pack a lot in during a short period of time. They let us check in really early and they securely held our... More

Personal touch is important to us. The location is best, breakfast was great and Selena and the team of lovely ladies are just amazing! Will return to this hotel in low season cause the price in central rome in July is crazy.

This Hotel is in just about the best location in Rome - close to on/off bus stops and within walking distance of the major highlights of the "Eternal City" if you prefer to wander around. The Hotel itself is quirky - more a B&B really - the rooms are clean and ours was big - two large rooms with air-conditioner... More

This hotel is so good, I don't want to tell you about it. It's located near the Pantheon in the heart of the historic center. Just outside your door, there are restaurants, shops, bars, and landmarks. It's such a pleasure to wander the streets and find remarkable fountains and buildings that aren't noted in guide books. As a hotel, it... More

We stayed 3 nights at the Relais Maddalena which is centrally located. From our piazza window we could see the Pantheon, walking distance to Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. Close enough that a taxi on cost 9 Euros to the Vatican and also Palantine Hill/Forum/Colesseum. Staff very friendly and helpful when our airport shuttle had problems getting into... More

Location, location, location. You could not find a neater, cleaner, more well positioned hotel in Rome. Just a stones throw from the old Roman forum and the sites and sounds of Rome this is the place to stay. The room we have had on our many visits is very large and well appointed, with all the usual amenities one would... More

Location is central to anything you want to see. 20 minute walk to Vatican City, 20 to the Colosseum, 5 to Trevi, seconds from the Pantheon and on a very nice Piazza with plenty of dining options. the room was very spacious, well kept and was better in person than the pictures. AC worked great, Wifi was strong, maid service... More

Five nights in Rome staying here could not have been better. Selena was so attentive and helpful even before we arrived. Many great suggestions and organised taxi to and from the airport - so much better a way to arrive and leave - absolutely no stress at all. Beautiful large en-suite room with very efficient air conditioning and two windows... More

Let's face it...my wife and I have stayed at Relais Maddalena 4-5 times now. It just gets better every year. Francesco is always making improvements and décor changes to his lovely B&B. This year we took advantage of his complimentary limo pick-up service from the train station. What a joy it was to see the limo driver standing and waiting... More

Staying in Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori

Neighborhood Profile
Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori
With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a five-minute walk of each other, the Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighborhood museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa drivers, street vendors, merchants, and locals. There is no rhyme or reason to its winding streets and there's something to see around every corner, so take pleasure in a spontaneous wander.
