My son and I really enjoyed our stay at Villa Urbani! Laura Urbani was so accommodating. She was very prompt in my initial emails inquiring about availability and accommodating our requests for a suite suitable for a family. She arranged for a driver to pick us up from the airport which was a huge life saver! The villa was lovely.... More

We loved our stay at Villa Urbani. A beautiful house in a wonderful part of Rome. Close to everything but away from the crowds. Laura is a gracious and helpful host. The room was enchanting and very clean. Breakfast was also very good. I would definitely stay again.

A great location, a short walk above the hubbub of Trastevere, Villa Urbani provided our family with a perfect base for a few days in Rome. Laura was extremely helpful both in organising transfers and making restaurant suggestions. The elegant ambiance of Villa Urbani provided respite from the noisy buzz of Trastevere - yet we could still take part, enjoy... More

We stayed here for our first two nights in Italy and it was a great choice. The main parts of our trip are in Florence and Umbria, so we weren't expecting to love Rome as much as we did. Villa Urbani got us off to a fantastic start. Laura Urbani, the owner, arranged transportation for us from the airport, a... More

My husband, 2 daughters (8 years old) and I stayed at Villa Urbani for 5 nights. Laura set up our airport/train transfers and they worked out perfectly. I was a little worried about having two young girls at a B & B, but it all worked out fine. The house is beautiful, clean and spacious. We stayed in the gray... More

Host Laura very helpful. Fantastic roman villa with large rooms, cleaned daily. Hot shower. Big comfortable bed. Breakfast very 'Roman' breakfast (Romans don't do breakfast like the Brits). Continental - cheese, ham, croissant, bread, yoghurt, orange juice, coffee, tea, apple cake etc - fine for our needs. Situated at the top of the hill from Trastevere. Get the 75 or... More

We loved our stay here. We occupied the gold room and the single room. The gold room looks out to the front/side of the villa, a beautiful aspect from the bed and good for watching the world go by. Yes, it can be noisy with the sound of cars and bikes accelerating up the hill and the tall buildings bounce... More

We stayed two nights in the Gold Room. The house itself is clean and elegant, and the host is very nice and accommodating. The location is great - just a short 15 minute walk into Trastevere. Our room was on the corner of the house facing two streets. Although it is a residential neighborhood, the very loud sounds of traffic... More

My family and I stayed at Villa Urbani while in Rome for my sisters wedding. Our stay was wonderful, the rooms are spacious and clean and the host Laura is very accommodating and made good recommendations for local restaurants. My sister also had pictures taken at the villa as she got ready for the wedding as the decor and sweeping... More

I had a relaxing stay at Villa Urbani, it's a superb location in the Trastevere, and only a few minutes walk to the wonderful views from the Gianicolo. I walked to all of the major Roman sites from the villa, but there is also a bus line just down the street that will take you to Teatro Marcello or Piazza... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
