We chose Villa Urbani based on the location but we were pleasantly surprised with the simply beautiful accommodations. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the host was gracious and very helpful. The breakfast was just the right start for the day. A large common room was perfect for our family to get together to start and end the day-... More

The photos of Villa Urbani don't do it justice. It is more beautiful in person than in the photos. Gorgeous property and the rooms are large, spacious and very comfortable. Loved having the common area for our family. One of the best places that I've stayed in while traveling in Europe. Location is very convenient and within a reasonable walking... More

What a lovely and unexpected location one comes to when you have had the good luck to book a room at Villa Urbani. It is in a relatively quiet residential area, 5 minutes walk from the centre of Trastevere with its wonderful narrow streets, which just beg to be explored. My wife and I enjoyed the B and B hospitality... More

Lovely B & B with terrific location, just a short walk from the great restaurants in Trestevere! Exactly what we were looking for after our last two stays in the Spanish step section. Laura is terrific and very easy to work with. Overall a delightful experience!

We spent four very delightful nights at the Villa Urbani. Laura Urbani, the owner, is gracious and helpful. The included breakfast was quite good. Homemade cappuccino. Sigh. (I am still dreaming about that.) Our room was one of the nicest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. 15 foot ceiling, beautiful molding, marble floor, nice and stylish furniture and appointments,... This is a delightful place and Laura is a very friendly and hospitable hostess who gives good advice and will order airport pick-ups for you etc - nice rooms and nice breakfast and just a short walk to some of Laura's recommended restaurants in the lovely Trastevere quarter of Rome. (Only one small issue is the noise of scooters going... More

My Wife and I spent a week at Villa Urbani in Rome, May 29th thru June 6th 2015. The grounds about the Villa with lemon, lime and orange trees are beautiful. The Villa is nicely appointed with marble and wrought iron, a delightful breakfast room, very high ceilings and beautiful windows. The location turned out to be even better than... More

My son and I really enjoyed our stay at Villa Urbani! Laura Urbani was so accommodating. She was very prompt in my initial emails inquiring about availability and accommodating our requests for a suite suitable for a family. She arranged for a driver to pick us up from the airport which was a huge life saver! The villa was lovely.... More

We loved our stay at Villa Urbani. A beautiful house in a wonderful part of Rome. Close to everything but away from the crowds. Laura is a gracious and helpful host. The room was enchanting and very clean. Breakfast was also very good. I would definitely stay again.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
