Thank you to owner Alessandro for his considerate attentions and thoughtfullness! Wonderful place to stay at, impeccable amenities, delightful private terrace and great location (walking distance to Pyramide métro station and Ostiense train station for quick access to all Roman sights, Fiumicino Airport and even Civitavecchia ship terminal). While the neighborhood is not touristy, it is dynamic and offers very... More

We spent almost a week at Althea Inn. It is a room on the top floor of an apartment building. The room was modern, and very clean. It had a terrace where we took our breakfast, which was brought to us by Alessandro, the owner. He was very nice and accommodating. Prior to our trip he gave us plenty of... More

Even armed with a trusty Rick Steves' Guidebook a first visit to Rome can be quite daunting - what sights to see in a limited time - how to get around - where to stay? For ease of arrival, departure and access to the sights of Rome the Althea Inn proved to be the perfect place to set up "base... More

We spent 3 nights at the Althea Inn at the end of September, and enjoyed our time there. The neighbourhood seemed a little iffy, but the rooms were spotless, and the private terrace was beautiful, both during the day, and at night lit up with mood lighting. Our host Alessandro was great, and brought our breakfast every morning at whatever... More

We have just spent 5 enchanting days at Althea Inn. Look no further for a peaceful, romantic hideaway just steps from excellent restaurants, the train to the airport or CivitaVecchia (cruise terminal for Rome), subway to Colosseum (two stops, close enough to walk home from if you are spry:) supermarket for wines, beer and picnic supplies, bank machine, great gelato,... The Althea Inn is an oasis in busy Rome. It is everything, it claims to be and more. There was a grocery store, down the street, where you can pick up wine, cheese etc. for a relaxing time on your private patio, after a day of sightseeing. But the best thing about the Althea Inn, was Alessandro. He was available... More

We recently returned from a two week vacation in Italy. The first five nights were at the Althea Inn. The B&B is located in a neighborhood that appears, on the surface, to be somewhat seedy but we truly enjoyed our time there. There are many wonderful restaurants and cafes nearby, as well as a small grocery store and ATM. The... More

You have to search just a bit to find it, but when you do - a perfect boutique hotel. The location, at least for first time visitors to Rome, seems improbable but that might be part of its charm. Once you've taken the lift to the 5th floor, poured a glass of wine and sat out on your personal terrace... More

Let me start off by saying I was prepared to not like this B & B. we were on our honeymoon getting off a ridiculously long flight. I was unaware that the maison and althea inn were two different hotels in the same building. None of this was Alessandros fault, it was trip advisor and bookit.com fault for not disclosing... More

Situated in a typical Italian appartment house, you really feel like coming home after a long day. Beautiful terrace where you can have breakfast in the morning and your aperitivo in the evening. The area around, Testaccio, offers a wide range of restaurants and bars. We can fully recommend this place.
