I don't normally write reviews, but I felt that this place warranted a write-up! We stayed here in April 2013 and cannot recommend it enough. The location is fantastic, everything is within walking distance, with plenty of local restaurants nearby. It was nice to stay in an intimate B&B like this, rather than some big anonymous hotel. The room was... More

Very friendly staff. Rooms are comfortable and have air con. The b&b is well located and within walking distance to all of Rome's sights and the train station. breakfast is basic but tasty enough. The area around the b&b has lots of nice bars and restaurants.

This is a fantastic place to stay. As other reviewers have stated it is the perfect location for exploring this beautiful city and its architecture. Walk ten minutes in either direction and you will reach Trevi fountain/The Colosseum. We were a group of 7 who returned from here yesterday and this place cannot be faulted. The rooms are lovely and... More

Arrived to a lovely friendly welcome. We were a group of seven ladies and had three of the four available rooms so took over the place a little but were made to feel at home. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Air conditioning and wifi is included free. We also had breakfast included which consisted of pastries, toast and the best... More

My wife and I stayed here in January 2013 for a long weekend. The location of this b&b is spot on. The colosseum is only a 10 minute walk away. We walked everywhere and didn't use a taxi once. The b&b itself is difficult to find at first as the entrance its just an iron gate on a long street.... More

Just returned from a stay at Ancient Rome B & B. Very clean, comfortable, affordable and great location. Our room was on the main floor as you come in off the street straight down the long hallway, at the back of the building. The other rooms and common areas are up on the next floor. We never had the need... More

This was my second time at Ancient Rome B&B...I was lucky enough for it to be available for New Years Eve. The Monti area is my new favourite neighbourhood in Rome. Its a cool area, with great restaurants, and wine bars...and not many tourists!!! The Colosseum is just down the road, and its incredible to see it in the near... More

Ancient rome is everything we could have asked for. Perfect location to walk everywhere, 5-10min to the colosseum in one direction, 10min to the Trevi fountain in another. To get here catch the 64 bus from stop L outside the Termini building and get off at Palazzo Delle Esposizioni (about 3-4stops) and the B&B is a 5min walk from here.... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
