Clean, modern, amenable and quiet b&b in the centre of trastavere. An excellent find, with all facilities needed in the room, including safe, and cappuccino maker. For the price this was well above standard, and I felt safe here Ada solo travellers. 20 min walk to Vatican, and 20 mon down to tram 8 to trastavere station and rome airport.... More

Casa della Fornarina is a well-situated place to stay, a short walk from Ponte Sisto, which leads into the centre of Rome, from where you can reach the Centro Storica, the Vatican and the Old Town with ease. Even Trastevere is an interesting place to spend a day or two. The room was well-sized and immaculate, as well as the... More

Lovely room and lovely staff; caring and very helpful. The caffe across the street was perfect for morning expresso. The room was comfortable and immaculate with a great shower. The location was perfect. Will definitely return.

Great find in Trastervere Rome. Great location. Trastervere is more local when compared other more touristy areas. The hotel is right smack in a the middle of a great, lively area with local bars, restaurants, shops etc. Easy access to the bus(1 min walk). The price is reasonable compared to central rome. The restaurants, bars give you a better experience... More

Perfect situated in Trastevere. Affordable price!! Short walk to many attractions. Inside it's silent and cool. Nice staff, clean and comfy room. We stayed in room nr.2. Lot of nice Trattorias and restaurants nearby. Many nice shops too.

Relais Casa Della Fornarina is a small b&b ihat is perfectly located in the heart of Trastevere. Our room was quite large by Rome standards. I was able to practice my Yoga routine without difficulty or bumping into anything. Everything worked perfectly, though we did not turn on the television. The espresso machine was a total delight. It made a... More

We loved this B&B right in the middle of all cafés and bars in Trastevere. Our room was large and spacious and also had a coffee machine which came in handy. The reception is not always manned so be sure to advise them of your arrival times so someone is there to greet you. As there is no dining area... More

Relais Casa Della Fornarina is a small hotel with only 4 bedrooms. Located in and old building - supposedly the home of Rafael´s mistress La Fornarina - it is newly refurbished to a high standard. Our room was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was modern and well equipped. In spite of temporary problems one afternoon, the WIFI was very... More

Ok. If you want 5 star amenities, you're not going to get it here. But if you want a really nice room in the lovely Trastevere neighborhood that is still reasonably within walking distance of several major tourist attractions, then you will love this place. I loved walking this neighborhood every day and checking out the mom and pop shops... More

We stayed at the Relais Casa della Fornarina for three nights during the beginning of May. The room and the location was perfect. When we arrived the fridge didn't work but that was fixed immediately. We did know about breakfast (cofee, juice, croissant) were to be eaten at one of two bars nearby. The latteria was the most Italian experience.... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
