What a great hotel. We took two rooms, one with a view, another without and were very pleased with everything. Staff is just best ever, the host, Sergio, was incredibly helpful and kind suggesting nice places to go and bringing coffee or tea during the day. Light breakfast (free) was served in the room by Ernesto and he was greeting... More

From booking to leaving we really felt looked after. Sergio sent website addresses by email so I could book ahead for things like a car from the airport (cheaper than a taxi !) and places we wanted to visit. e.g. the Galleria Borghese is only booked in advance and was booked up for 2 weeks when we arrived so we'd... After staying here for four nights with my boyfriend, I understand how this has gotten so good reviews. It feels personal, and its a totally different experience than staying in a big chain hotel like we usually do. The owner and his assistant are attentive and took the time to explain what we should and shouldn't do in Rome, a... More

Everything is perfect! Location (close to everything), good service, free wifi, nice view and big and fresh rooms, that looks great. Been there twice. (Really difficult to find the correct entrance door though!)

Beautiful place in the center of Rome...Easy walking distance to Pantheon, Colloseum, etc...Sergio as a host and his assistants are absolutely great, complimentary prosecco in the evening and coffee in the morning are nice finishing touches. We checked-in at 2am due to a flight delay and for them it was not a problem at all. Thank you Residenza Gens Julia... More

Location makes it easy to walk everywhere; very central. The rooms were very clean and large. Units are on 3rd floor and there is an elevator. This place felt private and secure. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. The wifi signal was good and the temperature was easy to adjust in the room. Nice prosecco treat in the evening.... More

I chose this hotel after reading the previous reviews and it certainly lives up to its reputation. I was planning a surprise trip for my husband and wanted something a little different. When you arrive, you only see a door between the pizza outlet and the Chinese restaurant... Don't be put off, the interior is much better! If you have... More

I highly recommend this little hidden gem of a 5 room hotel in the heart of Rome, overlooking the Largo Argentina ruins which is also a cat sanctuary with dozens of cats rome-ing in the area. The serve we got at this hotel was amazing, warm and so accommodating! They spoke English which was a plus. The room was very... More

It's been our third booking in a row, and we didn't regret: same kind and helpful staff, same clean room. The rooms with a view may come with some noise, too, but after a long stroll on the streets of Rome or queueing for hours in front of museums or exhibitions, one shouldn't have any problem sleeping... The residence is... More

Staying in Ghetto

Neighborhood Profile
Ghetto
The mini-neigborhood Ghetto holds tight to its reputation as a stand-alone area thanks to its nearly 300-year history as the home to Rome’s Jewish community. Times changed in the 20th century, but the tiny area still retains its mix of tradition, community, and history. Ancient and medieval architectural design frames apartments, bakeries, shops, and restaurants. Friends and families are the pulse of the neighborhood, keeping company on the Via del Portico d’Ottavia. The Ghetto observes the traditional Jewish Shabbat: businesses close from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown.
