My wife and i stayed here recently. Lovely place not a hotel but an upmarket BnB. It was very nice. The staff were first class. We took some advice from previous reviews and emailed our time of arrival which was around 11 pm at night. After getting of at the main bus terminus we asked directions to the hotel and... More

Our holiday was booked for a group of 3. We arrived at the hotel expecting a triple room with 3 beds. Instead we were given a room with only 2 beds, to resolved the owner bought a spare bed into our room, which we later realised was broken. We also realised that the hot water did not work. The service... More

We arrived to buzz in to the hotel and didn't really hear what the lady said when we were buzzed in (turns out it was 'wait and I will come and get you in the lift.....') - so we tried the lift (which requires a key and fits two people at a time) and decided that we needed to climb... More

Location amazing, rooms very clean and quiet. Staff very nice and helpful. We had some problems in the beginning which were quickly resolved by the owner of the place. Place homey atmosphere and comfortable, the standards are very high but it is not a hotel. Unfortunately the breakfast was a bit poor.

To be fair this is an Inn not a hotel but a great one. It has a superb location with a walking distance to most attraction and few steps to all public transportation and very convenient distance to Termini station but at the same time away from the noise of Termini in a very safe Street with lots of shops... We booked Esedra on Expedia's recommendation of a 4 star hotel. Esedra is not a 4 star hotel. I could write an incredibly long review but I'll keep it short. The reception remains unmanned most of the day and night with a contact Italian mobile number left. 5 floors up it is more like an apartment with only six rooms.... More

The hotel is located on the fifth floor near Piazza Republica, a relatively good location to explore Rome. For the local price level this was quite ok, although this still a lot of money compared to other cities worldwide. For this amount the A/C did not work well and the breakfast was on the 'light' side. The bad part however... More

This hotel isn't exactly near to Termini, about at 10-15 min walk. It's located in a large complex and rather complicated to enter- you have to buzz through 2 gates (pray hard there is someone at the reception to answer your call)- I had been stuck outside for 30 mins until a resident let me in. The hotel itself is... More

This hotel is locate in a very good position. 7 minutes from termini. 20 meters above it is a bus stop for Trastevere. 50m far from piazza republica metro station! 100 m down the severals bus stop to everywhere... We booked this hotel for a week through Expedia, having liked the pictures and value on the website, however the internet does not give an accurate picture of this hotel. This hotel can best be described as like an apartment, tucked away and with only about 6 rooms. When we arrived, we went through a big, heavy brown door (the... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
