Hotel Villa Duse is tucked away in a quiet, leafy residential area of Rome. We stayed there for 5 nights (Oct 4 - Oct 9), and we appreciated the relatively peaceful atmosphere of both the Parioli neighbourhood and the Hotel Villa Duse itself. The staff were very helpful. They provided good instructions on taking public transport into downtown Rome. The... More

What a nice hotel this is, comfortable, cleaning and welcoming. One of its greatest assets is the staff who are both friendly and helpful. They even let me practise my poor Italian on them. There are a number of restaurants near to the hotel one of which, Rossini’s, was recommended to us by the chap at the hotel reception on... More

Lovely hotel with an excellent staff. Great location in more of a residential section away from tourists and crowds. The breakfast was nice and our junior suite had a very large terrace, perfect for having a drink or playing cards with friends. The bed was firm but comfortable.

This hotel is everything we hoped for. From the warm and friendly welcome, to the excellent continental breakfast, to the immaculately clean and quiet rooms, all was great. The location is in a quiet quarter of Rome, as the website clearly states. It is a pleasant 10 minute walk to the no. 19 tramline (Vatican)/No 3 tramline (Colosseum) and excellent... More

Staying in Parioli

Neighborhood Profile
Parioli
Young and well-to-do families are the street flavor of Parioli. A new kind of Rome, this area is centuries away from the Renaissance with its pockets of 1930s palaces, tony boutiques, open-air markets and plenty of coffee shops. Parioli was built as an enclave for last century’s haute bourgeois and still represents as such in 21st century Rome. Need a break? The area has several great sporting clubs known for tennis and riding, a wonderful modern art museum, easy access to the zoo (Europe’s oldest), and is nestled around Rome’s very best parks including Villa Borghese, Villa Ada and Villa Glori.
