It was my time in Rome and it was a four-night stay. Gli Scipione has a very good location, just a few minutes-walking to Vatican and just around the corner of an underground station. It's a safe area, especially if you are female and a solo traveller. There are a bus stop nearby as well. Antonella was a lovely host... More

It's easy for me to recommend Gli Scipioni because we had a wonderful stay. Antonella was wonderful in helping us to find our way around Rome, accommodating our schedule change when our flight was delayed, getting us to our first tour timely, and generally being friendly and helpful. Because we kept rather odd hours (one early morning tour, another evening... More

My wife and I and 3 of our friends had a wonderful late October weekend in Rome staying in Antonella's lovely Gli Scipioni B&B. The accommodation itself was excellent (it was particularly suitable for us as we used all 3 bedrooms) and it is very conveniently located. The Vatican is just around the corner. But what made the experience so... More

We are so happy we chose Gli Scipioni for our stay in Rome. The hostess was very communicative and helpful. She arranged a car to pick us up at the airport, and when we left, she arranged another driver to take us to our rental car office. The price for the service was reasonable and both drivers were very friendly.... More

We spent five restful nights at Antonella's B & B and highly recommend it. As others have said, the location is convenient for exploring Rome by foot and for taking the metro. The size of the room was sufficient and everything is very clean. The kitchen was well stocked for breakfast and I usually had a yogurt, an orange, a... More

The B&B is located in an apartment house just about 100 m from Ottaviano Metro station. This location is great as it enables one to use the Metro which is by far the best transportation option in condensed Rome traffic. The Gli Scipioni is very well located in Pratti quarter in a short walking distance to St. Peters, St. Angello... More

Antonella arranged for a car to pick us up at the airport and drive us to her B & B where she met us and welcomed us to Rome. Our air conditioned room was very comfortable. The small kitchen right off our room was well stocked with breakfast foods and snacks. We had total access to food at all times.... More

My wife and I spent 4 days and 5 nights in the Eternal City, and we couldn't have picked a better location than Gli Scipione or a better hostess than Antonella. She was gracious, kind, informative and helpful in helping us plan our sightseeing tours of Rome. The B & B is conveniently located just a few blocks from the... More

We can't say enough about Antonella - she met us on arrival and was so welcoming and pleasant. She arranged cars for us, helped us plan our time, gave great recommendations on where to walk, take the metro, take cabs and also gave us some restaurant recommendations that were perfect for us. As for the room, it was spacious (by... More

We found this place at the last minute (after other accommodations fell through), and I am so glad that we did! The room was clean and bright, with a good amount of space. The host was excellent at communicating, and arranged transportation to and from the airport. The location was excellent - we walked everywhere. We couldn't have been happier... More

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
