My son and his wife and new baby live in Rome, so rather than intrude on their family life we picked a B & B on the next street. Good choice! We have just got back from staying with Elena and would definitely go back. We decided that last Sunday it was raining so rather than walk around Rome in... More

We arrived late in the evening and Elena was there to greet us. She had sent a driver to the airport to pick us up which was very helpful since it was our first trip to Rome. The room was very clean and comfortable and is located in a nice residential neighborhood. You get a voucher for the cafe next... More

We had a super stay for 7 nights in September 2014. Elena was SUPER NICE! She gave us a total run down of what to do in Rome, what buses to catch, how to get about and what to look out for. She was friendly and attentive but not nosy or over the top. she just let us get on... More

It had all the necessities! Our personal bathroom was very clean. Elena was very warm and helpful. She gave us a map of Rome and told us which buses to take so it's not hard to get from major sites to the B&B. Although, you have to pay an extra ?5 to use airconditioner, but we just opened the windows... More

I experienced the B&B vicariously when we put my mum up there recently for 5 nights. Elena was so welcoming, and spoke excellent English (my mum has no Italian), plus did a great job explaining breakfast (vouchers for the downstairs bar). Mum's very spacious (double) room had a really lovely modern en suite bathroom (which she rated highly), loads of... More

This B & B is within walking distance to the historic center of Rome, and close to the metro, train station and bus stops . There is a supermarket downstairs which is very convenient. It's located in a nice neighborhood, and Elena was a great host. Breakfast downstairs consists of a large croissant, juice and a cappuccino which was quite... More

A great B&B in a lovely neighbourhood just a short bus ride away from Rome centre. I really enjoyed my stay here, and Elena was very helpful and friendly. I chose this B&B based on the reviews here and I wasn't let down. Transport links nearby are good, and the breakfast you get at the cafe downstairs is lovely. Hopefully... More

We had a very pleasant stay at Elenas B&B. Great help with guiding us to the great places of Rome and especially Testaccio. She went out of her way to help me get the things i forgot at the B&B back to me. Always smiling and full of energy.

Elena is truly a great host, she provides us with maps and explained routes and places to see. The location of the hotel is a walking distance into town about 20 mins. . We did get tired though as we took longer routes than necessary and got lost often in Rome haha :) nonetheless, there are train stations close by... More

Stayed here for 3 nights, our first - but definitely not last - trip to Rome and this B&B could not have been better. Ideally located near some fantastic bars and restaurants, a 20 to 30 minute walk from the centre of Rome and near to local buses and trains. Plus Elena is a fantastic host and spent time explaining... More

Staying in Testaccio

Neighborhood Profile
Testaccio
Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighborhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
