My husband and I stayed for three nights and were very pleased with the accommodation and the customer service. It was a five minute walk to the Colosseum, right next to a lovely park. Very clean, comfortable room, which was cleaned everyday while we were out. The wifi was good as well. I've seen some reviews where people were upset... More

Good location. Very kind and helpful persons! We had a good time in Rome. The room was average but clean, so we were pleased with the whole service. The house is in the middle of the town, so you can go on foot to everywhere you want in downtown.

Excellent service regarding information prior to arrival but also during the stay the staff was extremely helpful and gave good ideas what to see, where to eat and what to do which you can not find in any tourguide. Many thanks to Caterina! The room was nice and clean and works perfectly for 2 persons. The location of the hotel... More

We stayed here over new year and enjoyed it. We struggled to find it as it has no clear sign and is situated within a block of private apartments on the ground floor. We only found it by seeing the name on a buzzer for entry to the apartments. There is no all-day reception so we waited to get in... More

Pros: 5 min. from Coliseum. Air conditionning. Free wi-fi. Ok bed. Cons: Bathroom was not clean (Bath was old, yellow-ish and dirty. Pieces of tapestry were falling from the wall. Black spots on the ceiling, moisture?). Staff was never around. No real breakfast, only poor quality packaged pastries. It was desappointing. We will not go back. Ps: I will post... More

PROS: - Great location; close to Colosseum, metro and the train station - Comfortable bed, spacious bathroom - Helpful staff - Clean and safe CONS: - Breakfast is very poor. Considering this is Bed and Breakfast, they leave you packaged pastries in the room and you have to wait till morning to eat dry food. - The only toiletries we... More

I booked the mecenate rooms for a break with my husband and mum. We had 2 rooms. Pros. Location is great. It has air conditioning. Both our rooms had baths although mine due to the paint used on it never looked quite clean and felt scratchy. I am sure it was clean though,it was the surface. Loads of hot water.... More

Mercenate rooms were the first stop in a whirlwind trip through western Europe. What a wonderful introduction! Marta was a wonderful host, friendly, warm and full of information. The rooms were nicely decorated and roomy for 2. The twin sized bed was comfy. The tub was deep and a delightful place to soak after a long day of site seeing.... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
