We spent three nights in Deseo Home during our Christmas holidays and it was an excellent experience. As other comments say, the building where the hotel is located looks a bit old, but the two floors occupied by Deseo Home are simply great. We were asked the approximate time of our arrival so that somebody was waiting for us in... More

+ Great service and staff were friendly, especially the breakfast lady! We were given a map at arrival, and the guy in the reception gave great tips on where to go, what to see and what routes to take. We also got a free upgrade to a larger room when we arrived, for no apparent reason. + The beds were... More

When we arrived there was none around to let us in to the reception. It's s converted 2nd floor apartment block with a restaurant for breakfast on the same floor. Breakfast is only in Italian and is bread, bread, cake and bread with coffee. The ladies who run the breakfast are nice and like the fact I helped clean up... More

Location of this hotel is great! We stayed there for 3 nights in the room called Majestic. The size and decor of this room is impressive. Breakfasts were delicious with a wide selection of hot and cold offerings. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They advised us to buy tickets to Vatican museum online to avoid queueing. Thanks for... More

The staff were friendly, the room was comfortable and well air-conditioned with a large television. It was well situated if you wanted to walk or catch a metro to the centre. It was more expensive than other hotels we had stayed in but definitely worth the extra money.

This is a perfect base, and very close to the train terminal. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Lots of places to grab a bite, and within walking distance to many of the sights of Rome. We walked to the Borghese Gardens, The Forum, Colosseum, and the train station.

As a base, when you are spending all day out and about, this is OK. Located about a 10 minute walk from Termini, it is easy to access most places. We were welcomed quite late at night and were a bit disappointed to find that our room did not really resemble the online pictures, which implied that it was bigger... More

We have been there for a week, and really appreciated our stay: the staff is really kind and helpful, the rooms are quite new and confortable, the area is very quiet, and it is close to bus and subway stops, which makes it very easy to visit the city. The only default was that the wifi signal was not accessible... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
