This was the hotel with the best location at a very low price for Rome. The receptionist was helpful, room was simple and the shared bathroom was very clean. I liked that I did not feel any moment that there is someone in that 'flat'. We didn't like the bed, but we didn't stay too long in the room :)!

Very pleased with our stay at Volturno! Excellent location which was just 5 mins walk from Termini station and also within walking distance of all of the main sites! We took the bus to St. Peter's basilica and Trastevere (from Termini) but walked everywhere else in the historic centre. The only thing that may be a problem is the bathroom...... More

Don't expect too much from this hotel. It's a room, it has AC, but it has a shared bathroom and i wouldn't qualify this as a real hotel. It's more like a hostel/guesthouse with a private room. You share the bathroom with 4 other rooms, in the bathroom there's a shower and a toilet, so you can't go to the... More

Guys, I have been in Volturno house during the month of July 2013. The Guest HOuse is located 10 minutes walking from Roma Termini Railway station. The area is full of restaurants, bar and shops. Positive: - The Guest House itself is clean; - clean bathroom with free soap and shampoo; - Shower very big, with soap and shampoo -... More

Terrible - that's the word! This is three rooms apartment transformed into a "hotel"- the kitchen is the reception! The shared bathroom was also awful, with a tiny shower cabin - I couldn't fit inside! The pictures from the internet are old - maybe it was better when you could take a shower directly on the floor - now there... More

keep your eyes sharp if you want to find this hotel, the hotel name was very small. it's dark inside the building. actually, you can say that this is a hotel, it's just a couple of room for rent. the room feels dirty, doesn't has good lighting. the bathroom was awful. the only good thing about the place is the... Last minute travel plans left little available in Rome during the Holiday season. Although the owner means well and was quite pleasant - the condition of facility is very poor with questionable cleanliness. Looking past the awful decor and furnishings, the walls had mold in several places and beds very uncomfortable. Bedsheets seemed OK. Not sufficient lighting or storage in... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
