I would not hesitate for another second! When in Rome stay there. The location is ideal, very small facility (3 bedrooms) so friends can also rent it out and be together. The place is absolutely spotless, a must in my book. It is very quiet, so one can get a good night's sleep in comfortable beds. Julia is a most... More

Everything about the BBQueen is great. Close to the Termini and metro, immaculately clean and well presented rooms, lovely breakfast and walking distance to nearly all the sites. A lot of good value restaurants , a supermarket and laundry are all very close. Julia is a mine of information and could not have been more helpful, making sure we saw... More

We had a reservation for this place in September, first this place is in a very not attracting place, and is no one there to receive you, we call the owner and was not answer, we wanted our room so bad , so after an hour waiting we decide to go to another hotel, so I don't know how nice... More

I picked this hotel as it was close to Termini station, and would be convenient as we returned from a cruise and were flying out two days later. It is very close to a Metro station (5 minute walk) which we took over to the Vatican area. We then walked back to the hotel seeing many sites in Rome as... More

BBQueen is an absolute gem of a place in Rome. My husband and I spent 3 nights there, and thought it was great value for money. Clean rooms and bathrooms with all the conveniences of a bigger hotel (a/c, wi-fi, room cleaning, a mini-fridge in every room), very convenient location (just a 5 minute walk from the station with a... BBQueen is a very nice B&B close to Termini station and off the Via Marsala main street. Via Montebello is a vibrant neighborhood, with a cool street market on Fridays. Julia is absolutely fabulous, and my wife and I strongly second all the great reviews that we've read. She is extremely meticulous about guest experiences, and was very responsive and... More

- Best part of this place is Julia: We took an overnight flight from NYC and Julia arrived early to get our room ready. We only expected to drop off our bags and head out to sight see but Julia went above and beyond! We appreciated the ability to take a quick shower in our room. - Very clean. -... More

We stayed here the night we arrived in Rome from the US and we chose it because we were leaving the next morning by train for Venice. We could not have been more pleased. Julia had responded to my emails quickly and answered all my questions. The place is small (3 or 4 bedrooms) but everything necessary is there. Our... More

This is a small b&b very convenient to Termini train station but still in a safe neighborhood. Julia, the owner, was very helpful when asked for any information and when securing a driver to Fumicino airport. The bedrooms are a decent size for Rome and face away from the street so are quite quiet at night. The bathroom, although small,... More

I agree with all the previous reviews. The BBQueen is comfortable, quiet and clean. There are only 3 rooms - that are modern (even though building is old) and clean, with high ceilings that give the sense of space. Breakfast is continental and served between 8:30 and 9:30 each morning. Julia is a gem. She is very good at providing... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
