Booked this hotel as it was the only one I could find to be within my budget & located centrally. Still, a very basic hotel despite the price. One may have big challenge to locate it initially. It is located on the 2nd floor, access thru a large wooden door at the corner of Via della Statuto & Via Leopardi,... More

It was simple to find after reading all the reviews. I can see how it would be difficult if I hadn't. Very clean. Great location. Great breakfast. Super friendly staff that was really helpful in site seeing suggestions. Right across the street from a park.

This place was great. Quiet, secluded away from the hussle. Prime location close to tram stops and sites. The Hostess was great and looked after us. Not an easy place to find but a great stay just be wary of the street hawkers as they set up right along that street

I am sorry to write bad review of a place that has such a pleasant staff but this place is overrated by too many people. Upon arriving at the bus station in Rome we sought the hotel, except it is not really a hotel, I am not sure what to call it but a dingy few suites on the second... More

We choose this hotel for the location, and it was a really good choice. You can walk all sights and is also close toTermini which makes it easier for getting to/ from. You also get your capucciono and croasssant in bed and off you are ready for your strolls.

Perfectly fine budget hotel, but maybe a touch overpriced. Located one stop from main Termini train station. That is its major calling card. But once you get out onto Plaza Victorio Emmanuel, Maikol is not that easy to find. You have to walk around the square, and hope you notice the small "Hotel Maikol" sign on the side of the... More

This hotel is situated on the second floor of a building which is accessed via a large door from the street then another door into the building then lift/stairs to the second floor and then another door into the hotel (more a B&B). You will have 4 keys to gain access to your room (which I guess means added security).... More

2nd visit in 2 yrs. 20 min. walk from train terminal and close to underground. Within walking distance of most major sites in Rome. Clean & comfortable & secure. Close to authentic and resonable priced restaurants.

Clean, safe, no nonsense and very reasonably priced place to stay. Close to train station, lots of good restaurants and Collosium. The only problem was the internet was off and on. I would stay there again.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
