Decent location close to the train station and colloseum stray a few blocks in the wrong direction though and you'll find yourself in some of Rome's dodgier areas, not a fun place to be after dark. But if you stick to your map and don't try any uneducated short cuts you'll be fine. Hotel is pretty basic but nice and... More

Really enjoyed our stay. Room was basic but clean and quiet. Staff was great. Breakfast in bed was a welcome highlight.

We stayed at this hotel based on other travellers reviews, and we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Maikol. It is small but very well positioned for sightseeing. 5 minutes to Santa Maria Maggiore. Very good service. Breakfast was served in our room and was very adequate. Around the corner from a train station and still within walking distance to the... More

We booked into the Hotel Maikol based on the fact it was near Termini station and fairly cheap - 110 Euros a night which is good for Rome standards. Our room was much bigger than we expected (having stayed in a box room in Paris for around the same price) and we received a warm welcome. The hostess let us... More

Tonight is our last night at Hotel Maikol before our 7am departure tomorrow. If you are thinking about booking a place to stay in Rome, I strongly urge you to book a stay here at Hotel Maikol. I booked this hotel at regular rack rate based solely on the glowing reviews from TA members. Though some commented the hotel was... More

Can't fault this b & b ! Clean , comfortable , close to some sights and transport links . Owner very friendly and helpful , always asking if we were ok and if there was anything we needed . Found our tour starting point on internet for us as she wasn't 100% sure of location . We were leaving early... More

This is a very small hotel/b&b on one floor inside a fairly busy building. We had a hard time finding it when we arrived at night, as there is only a very small sign on the building. In the morning, there are lots of vendors that set up shop right outside the building. The hotel itself is run by a... More

Our second time visiting Rome, first was for a Wedding so we didnt see much, great city for sight seeing but over all experience with the people and services was appalling, so rude and unpleasant, services were terrible also, no public toliets anywhere, with the exception of the main metro (self-service) it was very efficient. I suppose they dont see... More

We booked the Maikol hotel after searching for a cheap but reasonable hotel in Rome. We found the hotel easily after a short walk from the termini. No more than ten minutes and contrary to other reviews we found it easy to find using descriptions given by others. We were greeted by the owner of the hotel who apologised our... More
