So the room was dirty. Bathroom need a few liters of bleach. Shower water pressure was the same as slowly pouring a bottle of water on yourself.. They will advertise the "free complimentary breakfast"... No. We showed the cafe next door. Living room cafe. Our tickets and it was €3 for a cappuccino crossant and a glad of juice.. It's... More

So I turn up and my travel debit card is broken(don't leave it in your wallet all year and expect it to work kids). Nervous breakdown in reception until owner Mario saves the day. He lent me some cash and let me stay until I sorted things out and completely put me at ease. 3 weeks later I am back... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
