I don't understand why some reviews are so negative, it's a cheap b&b that covers the basic needs for turists: bed with private bathroom. If you want something more luxurious, pay more;).Unlike some other accommodation in rome for this price, we had a private bathroom, and i think that it's a plus. The room has a tv, a nice bed... We had to call 2 hours before arrival to the hotel (it is a must!). Receptionist at firts did not pick the phone, but after a few tries she answered the phone and waited for us in the reception at time. We booked the hotel via budgetplaces.com and got a big discount off price, so it was cheaper than a... More

During reservetion i've set an hour when we'll arrive. (8pm). Someone should be in hostel that time. When we arrived nobody was there. Hostel was closed. I was calling all the phones from website and from card on doors. No response. Neighbours said that sometimes they see tourists waiting here, so it's not the first time. After about hour of... More

The B&B is well located, not too far from the Colosseum and other main monuments. Very close to the A line underground station, which means that you can easily get to other Rome famous places. The rooms are basic and clean but they lack some of the features listed at the time of the reservation. For example the air conditioning... More

Don't ruin your holiday, stay away from this b&b. First of all this is not a bed and breakfast as breakfast doesn't exist. The room is extremely dirty with the dirtiest shower I have ever seen. We were glad to have sleeping beds with us so we didn't have so touch those blankets. Let's talk about the host. It's all... More

Upon arrival we were informed as we booked with a private bathroom we were staying around the corner, after a 5 min walk we were presented with the smallest room imaginable. The bed was pushed against the wall and there was no room for a chest of drawers or wardrobe, just some coat hooks screwed to the wall. The room... More

The location of property is really nice, Its close to Metro station and most of the tourist attractions are walkable distance from there. The information on Budget places is incorrect. you mention that there is breakfast available in the apartment but they dont provide any breakfast. Please update it.

Upon reaching the b n b we were told we could not check in yet as it was too early. So we left our bags and returned some hours later. When we came back we were told we had not paid in full despite giving card details when booking only a deposit was taken. Next they only accept cash and... More

A decent private accommodation with an authentic atmosphere. Located in a flat in an older apartment building, it offers an atmosphere a hotel wouldn't. Located in a residential part close to the metro and a 10 min walk from the Colosseum. Owner is helpful and always available on the phone. Only beware that even though being called B&B, no breakfast... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
