The place is located 10 min away from Termini train station which is very convenient but at the same time not the nicest neighborhood. However, it is very well connected and relitavely close from the main attractions (if you don't mind walking for around 20 min). The rooms are nicr and cozy, with AC (absolutely necessary for the summer time),... More

A trip to Rome is a big deal, and you definitely want to get your lodging right... we absolutely did with our stay at the Blue Hostel. We were greeted when we arrived by Andre (I hope I'm spelling that correctly), given an informative tour of the apartment, and offered a map that highlighted staff picks for places to visit...... Great location - as you can read in most of the reviews it is great location, close to train station, metro, Colosseum, center. Nice rooms - rooms were very nice and very clean (and I am normally picky when it comes to cleanness). Room is set in the comfortable way with all what is needed for the few nights couple... More

This place is amazing! We had our own mini apartment and was very spacious for 4 people. The location is really good. Close to the metro and just around the corner from Santa Maria. The one man we did meet (believe his name was Alessandro) was lovely and gave us some great local tips. We also were able to check... More

Had a wonderful time during our stay. The Blue Hostel was a sight for sore eyes compared to the previous places we stayed. The room was clean and the air conditioning actually worked which is crucial during the summer. The staff were excellent, particularly Andrea who went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and situated. He also... More

We stayed at The blue hostel for 4 nights and ended up extending our trip for a day for some more time in Rome and because we loved the hostel so much! Definitely more like a hotel than a hostel with a great city map and advice for places to eat and see. Will definitely stay here again if I... More

I really enjoyed my stay at the Blue Hostel. My private room was beautiful and felt more like a hotel. The owners are extremely helpful, they sat down with me when I checked in and went over a map with detailed site seeing tips which really helped me maximize my three days. I would stay again.

Close to Termini train station, to metro stations, in a walking distance from lots of landmarks in Rome. The room was clean and comfortable, quiet, cozy and had a good space. Andrea was very kind and helpful, even in two days it felt like home.

We loved staying at the Blue Hostel. We were sad to leave. Andrea was great. He was always helpful, showed us the map in detail and carried out bags. The room was quiet and was a good size for 2 people. Very close to the metro and the hop on hop off tour buses. About 5 minute walk from Roma... More

We read about Blue Hostel in the lonely planet, and they were right - a perfect, quiet hidden gem centrally located in Rome. The rooms were clean and well decorated and the staff helpful and informative about the local area. We had booked a hostel room which we were totally thrilled with - overlooking a quiet courtyard and nicely decorated;... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
