I just want to add something to all the fab reviews below. Our room at the Cesare Balbo Inn was extremely well equipped with electrical sockets. It might seem a small thing, but these days we all have so many gadgets to recharge overnight. We had brought a multi-socket plug with us, prepared for the usual difficulties. But there are... More

I've just got back from a wonderful 4 days in Rome with my parents. We booked to stay in the Cesare Balbo Inn as I'd seen some great reviews online. It didn't fail to disappoint - it is is a fantastic location, just 10 mins from the Colosseum, train station, some lovely non-touristy restaurants and the main shopping areas. The... More

We arrived on the Friday night and left Monday morning. There were two of us in one room and a friend in a different one. It was very homey; the room had a TV, a farely spacious wardrobe, a double bed and a little table. The bathroom had toiletries, which included soap, shower gel and shampoo (2 last in one).... More

My three friends and I stayed here in October 2014 for 4 nights. We couldn't believe our luck - excellent value for money. Very clean, spacious and comfortable. The location was fantastic - short walk from Termini station and the centre of Rome. Very comfortable beds too :-) Glen was so friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay here on any... More

This little B&B was a surprising find in Rome. The staff was very helpful, the location is fantastic. It is also very close to many small, welcoming restaurants and shops. I think it may be the best value in Rome, loved it.

We visited Cesare Balbo Inn with two friends. It was an amazing little hotel, in the center of Roma (10 minutes walking from Colosseum). We had breakfast there,an authentic italian one. The room had Wi-fi which was important for us. Very clean, comfortable, for families and friends. Stuff was very kind and helpfull. If i ever visited Rome again i... More

My wife and I had a great stay here. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and brought breakfast to our room every morning. Upon arriving Glen spent over 30 min showing us all the places to visit and making recommendations. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Stayed there one night before our trip back home. Glen greeted us and was very nice. The place is good, a bit of a smell but nothing really bad. Rooms are spacious but would need a reno soon (laminated floors chipping and peeling) the beds are springy and not the most comfortable. Be there before 6 or they will charge... More

fortunately Glenn was there when I arrived to check me in, but no one is around during the day to give advice on where to eat, how to navigate the city, etc. Breakfast is a cappuccino, juice box, individually wrapped pastry and toasts with nutella and jam; something you'd see from a hostel.

It's a budget place to live in Rome, so don't expect luxuries and professionalism as major hotels do. The stuff were pretty helpful with everything and the location of the residence is really close to great attractions in Rome. Also it's a 10' walk to the Termini - no need for taxis and buses to catch a train to the... More

Dear Guest, thanks for you kind and useful review of our small guesthouse. We will take note of what you undermarket regarding an extra care to cleaness. Regarding the breakfast , as already told to many other kind customers, we CAN'T serve any other breakfast then that. And more reviews like yours we receive, more we get close to quit... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
