I stayed at Cesare Balbo Inn at the end of July with my sister. It was our first time in Italy, and the first place we stayed while in Italy. I'm so glad this was the first place we stayed because it started our trip off on such a high note. Luca welcomed us and checked all of our converters... More

My twin sister and I stayed at this location and absolutely loved it! Both Glenn and Luca were so warm and friendly and were more than willing to go out of their way to accommodate our needs and to map out directions for us. We had to fly out of Rome at the end of our trip and because we... More

We loved out stay at Cesar Balbo (2011). I almost don’t want to leave a review as these are the little gems of Europe that keep us coming back. The place is really well located, close the Termini, about a 10 minute walk to St. Peter in Chains and the Colosseum. It’s only 3-4 rooms on the bottom floor of... More

The hostel has a very good location. The staff is very helpfull and nice. We did most of our trip by foot, because its location has easy access to the main Rome attractions (specially, the Coliseum). The room is very comfortable and the staff was kind as it gets. Our stay was in January/2014.

Cesare Balbo Inn as a great location with walking distance to all the sights and resturants. Perfect for budget travel! The rooms are spacious and clean and the area is quiet even though it´s located almost in the center of the city. Breakfast is ok, but I would recommend to have breakfast somewhere else if you need energy for a... More

We where a bit unsure of travelling to Italy with a young family for the first time after hearing horror stories from other people but from when we arrived at the Inn we were greeted with open arms. Luca and Glen where absolutely amazing and showed us the ropes and what to do, be sure to take their advice and... More

Great location! Very close to Colosseum and safe area. The owner was extremely nice and accommodating. The hotel was accidentally overbooked, so we were put up in a room in their sister B&B right around the corner. The owner helped us carry our bags and showed us our room. We switched back the next morning to a big room and... More

This was our first trip to Rome and Glen was so helpful with directions and recomendations as we were in the heart of pretty much... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 6 nights ( 10th -16th May ). Fabulous location..sandwiched between Termini Station and the Roman Forum / Colosseum....roughly 20min walk to either from the Inn. Our bedroom was comfy and relatively spacious and the breakfast, though basic, set us up for the day and that's exactly what we wanted. Our room faced onto... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
