I you are going to Rome go stay with Matteo at Candia Inn. The place is just outside the Vatican Walls, the rooms are newly renovated, the air con is excellent, the bathrooms and the cleaning feels like home and Matteo provides excellent service.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights. Upon arrival we were greeted by Matteo who was extremely friendly and helpful. He gave advice on good places to eat, shop, and tips with getting into some of the attractions. The rooms were very pleasant, air-conditioned, clean and exactly like the photos we saw online. We had mini bottles of... More

We stayed for 6 nights, in two of Candia Inn's rooms. The welcome given was lovely, and throughout our stay the rooms were comfortable, well-equipped and spotlessly clean. The fridge was very welcome, as were the extra touches (wine and chocolates on arrival). Free wi-fi was appreciated by our daughters, and the selection of travel books really useful. Good location... Great place. Very clean and modern rooms. Owner is very friendly and helpful. Neighborhood has everything one would need for a long or short stay. Plenty of great restaurants, shopping, gelato, bars etc all at your doorstep. Metro just down the street takes you to all major attractions like Spanish Steps, Coliseum, Roman Ruins, major shopping streets etc. really good... More

This place is beautiful and the rooms are just like the pictures, it has a romantic air to it. Mateo is a great owner and is always very attentive and if he is not there you can find him by email, he always answers very fast and if you have any questions he will be happy to help. Rooms are... More

We relied upon TripAdvisor to help us locate this B&B and thank goodness we booked this wonderful establishment early. We just returned from 2 weeks in Italy, Greece and Turkey. Our first leg took us to Rome where we stayed at the Candia Inn for 2 nights and 3 days. Matteo personally met us at the door, took us up... More

The best place to stay in Rome. Close to Vatican museums and Saint Peter's, in the heart of Prati district and less than 5 mins walk from the Ottaviano metro stop. You won't need to take the metro though, cause Rome is a city to explore only by walking. Concerning the place, it is in a Roman block of flats... More

We stayed 3 nights in Rome, and the fact that we stayed here has a lot to do with how terrific the whole trip has been. The inn has all the comfort of a good hotel, but also a kind of independent touch, being a small acomodation facility - 3 rooms. We had all the privacy and quietness (much needed... More
