Staying at this romantic and lovely city our accomodation was a great experience for us. The owner, Aklesia is a very friendly and helpful woman feeling her great hospitality from our arrival there. The room was beautiful, very clean, cozy, lightful, with unbelieveble view, at a place that was near of the historical center of the city and indeed too... More

I really enjoyed my stay at the Aklesia B&B. The location is very convenient - just a short walk to the Colosseum, Roman Forum etc. I had the red room, which has a sitting room as well as the main bedroom, and it's very quiet because the windows face the back of the building. The landlady is very personable and... More

We stayed at Aklesia in April, were very happy with the choice and would recommend it to others with one or two minor words of caution. The location is fabulous - minutes from the Colosseum, adjacent to a tram stop and only minutes from the subway. The hosts are both warm and helpful, and were keen to make our stay... More

This B&B made our trip to Rome. Aklesia is an amazing host, so kind and will do anything she can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Her restaurant recommendations are brilliant and the breakfasts was lovely every morning and it was great to meet other fellow travellers too :) We stayed in the Gold room which was super... More

Five points hardly do any justice for the service you get in this wonderful place. Aklesia will go above and beyond call of the duty to make sure everything is perfect for you. You will feel very safe in this B&B. Remember to ask for restaurant recommendations. You won't regret it... The location is great. We had the corner room... More

I was there on cold January days and chose that place for strategic location between work and pleasure and for it prize. It was very good value for money and Aklesia was very friendly and helpful - offering a private breakfast for me. The 60 steps up to the forth floor are a challenge but a good exercise. Overall I... Gianfranco was nice enough to allow me to book one of his places a couple of days before Christmas Day. Although he would be on a planned Christmas lunch with family out of town, he made arrangements to ensure I had access to the apartment upon my arrival with a friend of his Roberto (sorry if I misspelled his name)... Aklesia and Gianfranco are incredibly warm and welcoming hosts. They put you at ease immediately with their large smiles and they are always eager to provide interesting information and addresses. Aklesia is present in the morning and Gianfranco is around in the evening, so you regularly meet the hosts. LOCATION The Aklesia Suite B&B is ideally situated: at only a... More

My husband and I spent 4 wonderful days in Rome at the Aklesia B&B. We stayed in the Red room which was very nice with a comfortable bed, seperate sitting room and lovely, large, clean bathroom. This room has lovely views, but not a view of the collosseum. Situated between two Metro stations, and a 5 minute walk to the... More

Aklesia and Gianfranco warmly welcome their guests, provide helpful tourist info, and are wonderful hosts. We stayed 2 nights in the Red Room - attractively decorated, comfortable bed, spacious rooms, very clean, good wifi service.... and an ideal location for sightseeing! The Colosseum, the Forum and the Palatine Hill are a 5 minute walk away. To get to the B&B... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
