Three hotels to choose with this group, within your budget in central Rome within walking distance to favorite attractions. Serviced daily, clean, comfortable and most importantly there's room to move either inside the room and or in the bathroom. We spent seven nights, with sweet, savory & fruit included breakfast ready as early as 07:30 am, coffee machine operates 07:00am... More

I stayed in Filippo hotel for 4 nights. There are 3 different hotels in this chain, I suppose Filippo at via Turati 163 is the poorest, from what I read.. The room wasn't like in the pictures at all, however it was clean with an LCD TV. The road was very noisy and busy with immigrants, I couldn't sleep without... More

Booked hotel Filippo, a bit hard to find (Google map directions a bit confusing in the last turning). We were placed at hotel sky, smallish room on ground floor. Very clean, super comfy bed and pillows! Receptionist very helpful. Breakfast basic but good; free water in room replaced daily; free coffee any time of day from breakfast room. Area a... More

Same with other reviewer, booked Hotel Filippo Roma but room is in Hotel Sky which is nearby. Is located at old building which operates with old lift with wooden door. Room is clean and water is provided everyday in the room. Breakfast is provided at the basement of the hotel and very basic. Neighborhood is not very safe and seems... More

Hotel Filippo has already a terrible reputation, I wish I had read it prior to booking. Area full of thieves and thugs who would steal your luggage. Not safe at night. The owner is arrogant and will not refund your money. There is no number on the door of the hotel so it is very hard to find. Breakfast is... More

I booked a room at Hotel Filippo, but I stayed in Hotel Sky Roma... The neighborhood is not good but the hotel is close to the train station. Though I didn't feel safe walking out at night. And on our second night the lock of the outer door of the building was out of order, so we had to stand... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
