Italy is a place of lunch and dinners. Not breakfasts. Italian types of breakfasts are, overall, nothing but a couple of Biscotti and a Capuccino, as a result, do not expect to have an awesome breakfast as you probably would in your country. Aside from the fact that for the luxurious, antique and high-end hotel, the breakfast was completely terrible... More

This hotel is just amazing! The rooms are beautiful, the service could not be better and the location is great. The hotel is located in Trastebere which is a great place to drink and eat, so if you walk 5 minutes you will be located there. Don't miss it!!!

This is a very beautiful hotel and the calm atmosphere is the ideal way to recover from the hectic tourist activity of the day. The rooms have a unique decor. As an added bonus, evening walks on the cobbled streets of Trastevere area make it an unforgettable stay.

We loved staying in the Trastevere area. The hotel was so pretty. Staff were welcoming and helpful and nice. Breakfast was nice, and sitting outside was beautiful. We really enjoyed this hotel and would recommend it to others. Priced right, pretty, good air conditioning, and a great roof top view. A great choice if you like charm and comfort.

The hotel is undoubtedly special. A live-museum, small boutique hotel. You are in a great location, smack in Trestevere, but in a hidden corner, understated, intimate ,and clinging to its centuries . Breakfast is gorgeous. However, for me personally, something went missing. First, the room which was a bit of a disappointment due to it's price, on the one hand,... More

We loved this hotel! Gracious staff, lovely room, good breakfast -- all around a wonderful experience. We especially appreciated the lovely courtyard. Our room was large and well equipped. Bathroom and amenties were better than average and hotel staff was always gracious and accommodating. Located in the Trastevere section of the city - it's away from the main tourist areas... More

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for a few nights at the end of our stay in Italy. We wanted to end our holiday on a high and Donna Camilla Savelli helped achieve this. The property is unique as it was previously a convent and is still in use. It is an oasis for weary travellers as it... More

I almost don't want to write a review, as I would like to keep this my little secret. This hotel is like no other I have stayed in. It is a beautiful monastery which has been part turned into a boutique hotel - the other part still a working monastery with beautiful Church too. Once inside the large entrance gates,... More

This place is just amazing. A beautiful monastery turned into a very exclusive, wonderfully run, peaceful boutique hotel in the very heart of Trastevere. I'd like also to express again my deepest regret for the way I misbehaved with regard to an unfortunate episode that has involved three lovely staff directly, and many more indirectly. I accused them of wrongdoing,... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
