The Donna Camilla Savelli Hotel is a converted 17th century convent designed by Francesco Borromini. The hotel has plenty of charm, including nuns who still inhabit the place. The Trastevere location is terrific, close to many things but just a bit separate. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are wonderful views from the roof-top terrace.

Whilst it is a hotel that I will most certainly return to (with my wife) it was not a great experience for a business traveler for the 4 nights I stayed there. Very central to great restaurants and convenient for my business events, it lacked atmosphere for a lone traveler. Poor WiFi, not great common area, poorly laid out breakfast... More

I have stayed a few times in the Donna Camilla Savelli Hotel and I have elected it as my preferred hotel in Rome. The hotel is located in a former convent (actually there are still a few nuns living within the hotel premises) and therefore with a unique atmosphere. The chapel of the convent is still used as a Catholic... More

After a long day of travel in the rain we arrived at this hotel early and were greeted very pleasantly by Francesca. She was able to get our room to us early and went over the top to make us feel welcome. This hotel is a converted convent that has a reach church inside. the church is actually very beautiful... We stayed for 4 nights and loved the hotel and the surrounding area. The hotel is in a converted convent, with a working church on the side. There is a door to the church, connected from the reception, which was really spectacular. The building is really beautiful and was impressive when you pull up, into the gated courtyard. There are... Chose the Donna Camilla Savelli based upon reviews, location and price. Was not disappointed. Stayed in July this year for a long weekend and rejuvenated my love for this spectacular city. We had a ground floor room near to the reception - may have been a bit noisy in comparison to the upstairs rooms perhaps (no carpet in corridor -... More

From the TripAdvisor reviews we were not sure what to expect. It's a gem, with off street parking, a stunning courtyard, adjacent to a church and hidden away right off the beaten track down a cobbled street that feels like 'proper' Rome. You are about a 20 minute walk from the city centre - pretty cobbled streets all the way... More

This is a former monastery that has been turned into a fantastic small hotel. They kept a lot of the original feature and the hotel is built around a central courtyard. We had a queen room which was surprisingly large and well appointed. You walk into a large foyer with the bathroom off to the side. Our room was split... More

This is a beautiful old hotel in the heart of Trastevere. The rooms are a little small but the high ceilings and balcony windows make them feel larger. The bathroom was surprisingly large and comfortable. Great location, easy walking to great restaurants in Trastevere and a quick walk over the bridge to the city.

First the positives, the location of the hotel is great and the buildings and rooms are amazing. The front desk staff are great - really helpful and always with a smile on their face. If the rating was just based on this side of things it would be 5. The negatives, housekeeping - not replenishing the toiletries even though they... More
