Me and my wife stayed here for a weekend. We had a wonderful stay in the old monastery with it's own chapel. The garden is fantastic and a lovely place to enjoy a breakfast or a glass of wine. The hotel alo gave a wonderful roof terrace.

We stayed for four nights with our 16 year old daughter and19 year old son and had a wonderful time. The hotel is an oasis of calm and tranquillity in a busy city. The rooms were cool and comfortable and we loved the garden where we had breakfast or chilled out in the evenings. The views over Rome from the... More

What a lovely way to start and end a day in Rome. Quiet location, yet just a minute's walk away from where it all happens. Kick-start the morning with a jog up the hillside just behind the hotel or with a quiet breakfast in the tranquil courtyard

Can't say enough good things about this hotel, in my favorite neighborhood in Rome. There was an issue with the booking and we stayed our first night at their sister hotel, but they upgraded us for free to a room with a giant terrace and paid for our taxi fare over from the other hotel. They were very willing to... More

Beautiful hotel, the smell of Jasmine all around you as you sip a gin & tonic in the garden is delightful not to mention the amazing views from the roof terrace of an evening. The rooms are well appointed and so quiet. My double was very big with an enormous bathroom. Another member of my party had a smaller room... More

When searching for a hotel in Rome for a short break, I was drawn to this because of the courtyard garden and the amazing views over the city from the roof terrace. We were not disappointed! The building, which was a convent (in fact part of it still is) is absolutely beautiful. Cool and elegant, dripping with antiques and artwork,... More

The used to be a nunnery (in fact, parts of it still are). The rooms are furnished simply, not plushly, but they are excellent, and ours had a great bathroom. The one downside to the hotel was that breakfast was rather unimaginative. But everything else was superb.

The hotel itself exudes ancient character while being modern, well appointed and very comfortable My husband and I came to Rome and after a pitiful experience (unprecedented to us) with Casa Campo De Fiori (http://www.casacampodefiori.com/ ) found this much superior and magnificent hotel conveniently located in Trastevere. We stayed at Donna Camilla Savelli hotel for three short nights. Located on... More

The setting of the hotel is brilliant and is within walking distance to some good restaurants. We received a free upgrade to an amazing room with three balconies overlooking the courtyard. The breakfast was fairly basic and needs a bit of an upgrade. Other than that, this is one of the loveliest hotels we've stayed in.

We stayed here with our family of four in a suite. The room was spacious and bathroom perfect for four. Great location in Trastevere and incredibly kind and helpful staff. Very cool setting too in a monastery. We were able to walk to all the sites, no problem.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
