Stayed here twice in 10 days during my stay in Italy. The first room was located on the third floor with a great view of the city, good air-conditioning and neat. The shower was awkward and the whole bathroom flooded every time someone took a shower. Our second stay was in a room located on the ground floor near what... More

I stayed at the Donna Camilla Savelli for the second time in August, and enjoyed this stay even more than the first. The hotel is in a converted convent, with the chapel still attached, as well as a few of the nuns! We were given an upgraded room, a suite, and it was lovely! The breakfast is very ample, with... We stayed in this remarkable hotel in August. We were a group of 42 on a business incentive.I cannot recommend this hotel enough, the service was outstanding, the rooms by Italian standards enormous ,and the breakfasts superb. To sit and have a drink in the courtyard is enchanting and the nuns going to work looking after the quaint church puts everything into context.... More

We recently stayed at this hotel and were excited to see that it, in itself, contained a lot of history. One issue we encountered was that the air conditioning was broken and continually started and stopped about every five seconds. This went on for two out of the three nights we were there, even though we reported it to the... More

Plus points... Really nice old buildings with a church on same grounds Very friendly and helpful staff Rooms with a view Free internet that was for most part fine Very quiet Easy walking access to most of the key places in Rome I would have given them 5 stars but... Negatives. No shower in room. Had a telephone shower with... More

It is outside the very busy city center and there are no buses or underground close to the hotel. You have to walk a lot or take a taxi to the attractions. There are some (not so good) restaurants in the neighborhood. My room was terrible. My view was "the mop and buckets." And when I asked to change rooms,... More

That's what I'm thinking, striking around in the beautiful hotel/monastery. The room is small but tidy and elegant. The service and the surroundings are great, the breakfast offers everything you could possible wish for. Big plus for the beautiful garden and the rooftop terass. Feels like this hotel offers anything you could ask for. It's my second time in Rome... More

This was a very positive experience for us. This is an older property, but the rooms were lovely and the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. The breakfast each day was more than ample and many choices were available. Breakfast could be taken in a lovely garden courtyard area, which was a beautiful way to start each... More

The front desk staff was amazing. In particular, Luiselli, Giuseppe, and Lucio were super helpful, especially when I had a serious technology problem with the wifi and my phone. They went out of their way to help. The breakfast terrace was beautiful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the building was quaint and lovely. I will definitely go there... More

We really loved the this hotel and its staff. The breakfast was excellent, the room spacious, the garden wonderful and the view from the roof terrace amazing. We will surely be back. Thanks for a great stay!

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
