This hotel is located at the historical center of Naples at the second floor of an ancient building. Breakfast shall be ordered and is served in the room (price 2.5€). A breakfast room does not exist! At midnight I could not find the hotel and I called, the person in charge was unable to explain the way. The owner switch... More

My room was very clean. Ok. But this is not enough. First, I disliked that I was not allowed to get back to my room after 1am. You expect such rules from a youth hostel, not from an alleged hotel. Second, I disliked very much that the owner accepted exclusively cash as a means of payment, without giving you any... More

As a travel & food Journalist I have known many different hotels worldwide but in Napoli at the Pignatelli and its owner Ciro Muscariello I really feel at home. The hotel is located right in the heart of Naples so that I need neather taxi nor bus I can easily walk to my preferred locations. Ciro is helping with his... More

although not easy to find at first, once you get to know Naples you can appreciate the excellent location. I was amazed to read a review about the staff being rude. the staff are the warmest staff I met in Italy (like most of the southern Italian people) and I've been around quite a bit (2 months). the room was... Ok, it wasn’t easy finding this hotel at 9pm - a massive metal gate in a narrow dark street, rows of doorbells in the apartment block - but the last thing we could have foreseen were the 3 flights of stairs and no lifts. Our suitcases packed for a 2-weeks’ holiday were heavy but the staff were not in a... More

I'm not sure many people are travelling to Naples these days - maybe the effect of the rubbish crisis and the strong euros. While at the Pignatelli we only sure one other couple, and we were given an 'upgrade' for the same price as the standard room we booked. I think the upgrade just means that more of the original... Despite the dodgy looking entrance this hotel is charming. High ceilings, plenty of character, clean and most importantly in Naples cool and quiet. We had a very comfortable stay and Enzo is a real gent giving us helpful advice and information. The price is reasonable too compared with elsewhere. The surrounding area seemed pretty safe (by Naples standards) and certainly... More

We stayed in Naples at Hotel Pignatelli for just one night. We picked it based on the Lonely Planet recommendation. We took at taxi from the train station and the driver had a hard time finding the place - it would have been impossible for us to find alone as it's quite well hidden away in the middle of the... Quick overview: Just spent 22 days (April 9-30) in Italy as a single traveler: I stayed in 12 hotels priced from 50 to 80 Eur/night. I looked long and hard on the Internet to find the best hotels I could afford. In general, most of them are better than “budget/backpacker” hotels and you get great value for your buck: I... More

This hotel was recommended by Lonely Planet which mentioned frescoed ceilings – none in our rooms, but nevertheless they were clean, simply furnished and fairly spacious. The entrance to the hotel is through a shabby doorway in a shabby street, very typical of the Centro Storico, but don’t be put off; the hotel takes a floor of what was once... More
