This hotel is reconstructed and decorated in a traditional neapolitan style, which I personaly liked a lot. My room and bathroom (36) were very comfortable indeed, with a large fauteuil, a desk, drawers and numerous electrical outlets. (However: The safe is very small: impossible to store a laptop.) The only problem was the (free) WIFI-connection: it was very unstable and... More

I spent three nights at Il Convento in room 12, which faces the street. I really enjoyed the hotel and the area. It was really convenient (only 10 minutes from the port Alibus stop and even closer to the Toledo metro stop). The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful (everyone - really). The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom... More

This hotel was recommended from Rick Steve's 2014 travel Europe handbook. We arrived late from Positano. Our driver made a comment about the neighborhood saying it "wasn't good". The narrow street was loud and full of people, cars and scooters. We started to wonder if our driver knew something we didn't and we were skeptical at that moment. It's a... More

This is an excellent value hotel in the vibrant (noisy characterful) Spanish quarter of Naples. It is convenient for the metro (on Via Toledo), the airport bus and ferries at Molo Belevedere are no more than a 10 minute walk. there are many small reasonably priced restaurants only a couple of minutes walk away. The rooms are small as you... More

When we first arrived by taxi from Positano, we were slightly alarmed by the location of the hotel. The Amalifian taxi driver scared us by telling stories of how unsafe the Spanish quarters were in the olden days. When we checked in, the kindly receptionist laughed it off, telling us it's quite contrary. Everyone knows everyone in the narrow alley... More

Nice location, near main street, 10 min. to ferry, nice restaurants nearby, and the price is reasonable. Room and bathroom were of reasonable size and clean, Staff was friendly and very helpful. No problem leaving our luggage after checking out and doing some sightseeing before leaving Napoli. Only negative is the treet noise if you have the window open. However,... More

This place is like finding a diamond in the rough! I stumbled upon this gem because my 1st choice was unavailable (lucky me😋). Located in the Spanish District of Napoli where pedestrians, moped and cars alike share ally ways (side streets). That place is a community all its own. At first glance it looked a bit seedy but once we... More

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Il Convento in August 2014 for one night before our trip to the Amalfi Coast. We had a lovely room with the private patio which was a welcome relief from all the hustle and bustle of Naples. The hotel was charming, reasonably priced, easy to find, and the staff was superb. I would... More

Lots of character in our hotel room. We loved the balcony overlooking the street. We walked from the train station to the hotel (40 min walk) and are thankful for the street signs which helped us easily find the building. The staff were friendly and helpful. The neighbourhood was good for discovering the character and charm of Naples. We walked... More

I found this hotel to be charming. Lots of nice little touches. I stayed for two nights in a good-sized room opening out to a small balcony overlooking the narrow street. The bathroom has a bath that might appeal to someone wanting a good relaxing soak. A good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location for exploring old Naples and... More
