My husband and I stayed at Hotel Il Convento in August 2014 for one night before our trip to the Amalfi Coast. We had a lovely room with the private patio which was a welcome relief from all the hustle and bustle of Naples. The hotel was charming, reasonably priced, easy to find, and the staff was superb. I would... More

Lots of character in our hotel room. We loved the balcony overlooking the street. We walked from the train station to the hotel (40 min walk) and are thankful for the street signs which helped us easily find the building. The staff were friendly and helpful. The neighbourhood was good for discovering the character and charm of Naples. We walked... More

I found this hotel to be charming. Lots of nice little touches. I stayed for two nights in a good-sized room opening out to a small balcony overlooking the narrow street. The bathroom has a bath that might appeal to someone wanting a good relaxing soak. A good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location for exploring old Naples and... More

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights this September on the way to Sorrento. It does exactly what it says on the tin ,, position is perfect ,less than a minute to Via Toledo ,,which is right in the center of the Spanish quarter. turn left up Toledo and you are heading to the archeological museum ,and also... Stayed for one night on our way out of Naples. I was very happy with all the little touches at Il Convento. The earplugs by the coffee and tea tray which weren't in the end needed; the lovely up to date bathroom; the English speaking channel on the t.v.; the music playing at breakfast time; and the quite delicious cup... A good hotel that gives you alot of value for the money. All in all it is a very good hotel that I would recommend! Staff was very friendly. The only minus is the smell in the room we had. It passed eventually, so it was no big deal really.

In the historic center of Naples there is a tendency to want one of the very nice hotels that face the sea. However, the Quartieri Spagnoli (Spanish Quarters) up hill from the Via Toledo is where life is lived on the streets, Neopolitan is spoken and the laundry hangs from balconies. The streets are narrow and there are more motorbikes... More

We had the most pleasant stay here! The staff was friendly, the breakfast astonishingly good and the location perfect to reach all the sights, the metro station and the ferry/hydrofoil harbour within easy walking distance. Even checking out at 6am was no problem. Many reviewers complain about the noise at night, but once the windows were shut (and even with... More

I use Tripadvisor for every trip and it has never failed me. I have never reviewed anywhere before but I feel compelled to this time. I booked this hotel at very short notice on the strength of the Tripadvisor reviews. We are 2 adults and 3 children (13, 11 and 11) and booked the suite with roof terrace and a... More

Dear Madame, we're sorry to know you didn't enjoy you stay here. We're a simple 3 stars hotel, but with character as you can read in other reviews. Our rooms are monastery style, so simple, our furniture are created by skilled cabinet makers or antiques. Nothing here is from IKEA. Maybe you had expectations of a premier, modern hotel, that... I stayed for 5 nights in early July. Location is terrific - an easy walk to the historic district and the Toledo metro and the waterfront, right off a major shopping street. Loads of traditional restaurants within a few blocks. Maria and other staff were especially helpful with logistical advice and recommendations. She's a gem! My room was large and... More
