Stayed 2 nights in this hotel and except from the fact that I could walk to the train station the rest was very poor. It was also noisy; you could feel the everything shaking when a train passed by. This hotel is one of many in this Naples Train station area - Garibaldi plaza. This area is somewhat dangerous and one needs to be careful of pickpockets and angry locals. Hotel was good value for money. Basic, clean. Can't comment on breakfast as wasn't included in our booking. Great location by the train station. Only negative point, the noise and vibrations in the room everytime a train passed. The train is the best mode of transport to visit both Pompeii and Vesuvius - must do visits! The hotel itself is not too bad. Clean and adequate. We had a twin room and it was perfectly suitable with a good shower. mercure garibaldi is a great value hotel in a great citi. Naples is an enchanting city with character.. if you want to travel to Pompeii or Sorrento takin the train (very cheap) theres no better location for you than stay close to stazione centrale.. and thanks to the free shuttle to the other mercure hotel angionlino you can reach the... more

The hotel was located near the train stations, which meant it was a great base for touring the Naples area - particularly Pompeii and the Amalfi coast. The hotel room was small but kept very clean, and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was additional to the room rate so instead we tried the local cafes, which provided great coffee... more

nice hotel, friendly helpful staff, BUT the area lets the whole place down. we used their courtesy bus to the other mecure for dinner, we wouldn't have stepped foot out the hotel door without. very scary place, even in daylight, for two women traveling together. what a shame. Location was great, near the station which was our reason for staying there, but on a side street and not recommended to wander there alone at any time of day.
