We stayed at the hotel for a 1 night stay so we could be closer to Pompeii/Ercolano and we were glad to stay only 1 night. It's tucked in the back of the Station area, which almost makes it seem like a sketchier place to be than the main street. The room was decent, although the bathroom was probably the... more
My friend and I stayed one night at this hotel as we were only stopping in Naples as base to see Pompeii. The hotel is very close to the main train station (5 min walk) so the location is convenient for traveling by train. We didn't really explore much else of the city, so I can't say if it would... more
Me and my husband stayed at the Mercure Garibaldi for 2 nights, the hotel is clean and tidy, however we stayed in a no smoking room and as soon as we walked in the room it stunk of stale cigarettes. The reception staff are unorganised, do not speak very good english and are quite rude. In the room were room... more
My wife and I just returned from a wonderful vacation to Italy and during that vacation spent five nights at the Mercure Napoli Garibaldi. Our vacation was primarily a visit to the Amalfi coast, with a one day side trip to Cervinara where Joyce could meet, for the first time, some relatives on her mother's side of the family. We... more
First off if you are touring Italy I would recommend skipping Naples. It is a dirty, crime ridden town with little to offer. With that being said if you need to stay near the train station in Naples this hotel was fine. It was a good value, clean and near the station. more
We ended up staying at this hotel because we missed the last train from Naples to Sorrento. We wanted something close to the station and found this place thru tripadvisor while we were on our train. I had heard that Naples has a reputation of being an unsafe place. Stepping out of the station, you realize why this is true.... more
We stayed in Naples for two nights to see the sights and eat the food. The Mercure was close to the train station, very clean and inside the hotel was very safe. The area outside was a little seedy, but it's Naples so I could say that about almost anywhere there. Our only small complaint was that it's close to... more
This hotel is located very near the train station, only a 5 minute walk. Not really hard to find if you have some directions and there are some signs up. If this is your first time in Naples, the streets are dirty and the area does not look great however, once off the piazza, it seemed like a normal neighborhood.... more
Unless you arrive in Naples with a motorcade and with armored car, stay away from this location. Dont go out at night unless you are completely oblivious of the risks.... Breakfast is average. Internet is for pay and very expensive! more
