Naples isn't the nicest city in Italy, but it is a good base to visit Pompeii and Vesuvius. The Grand Hotel Europa is only 5 minutes from the central station, though this area isn't very nice it is very convenient. The rooms are comfortable and include a fridge, safe and free wi-fi. Breakfast is also included, which is useful but... More

We stayed in one of the superior twin rooms ('Junior Suites') in the Hotel in July 2014. The hotel is close to the main train station and metro, making access very easy. I think it would be unfair to criticise the hotel's location; while it is located in a run-down, 'messy' neighbourhood, in reality, the majority of Naples is messy... More

I have stayed here three times now, and am about to return for a fourth visit. It is so conveniently situated - as others have mentioned - just 50m from the main railway station, but not at all noisy. It is close to the Piazza Garibaldi, the main square, where there are a couple of nice restaurants. It has much... More

The hotel was nice, but unfortunatly I think we got one of the not so nice rooms at the back of the hotel, over looking a court yard. The breakfast was nice. To get to the hotel you have to walk through a not so nice part of Naples from the bus station, we did not feel safe at nights,... More

We chose this hotel for its location as we wanted to travel to Baia and Capua, we were not disappointed. It was so close to Naples Centrale station, we could easily get on the metro and regional trains. I noticed that other reviews mentioned the location being unsafe, whilst it is not a place where I would freely wander showing... More

We chose this hotel for its location. And that was fine. Price was also cheap. We checked in and found we were upgraded to a suite. Well, that was a strange room set on 2 floors. Beds up a staircase while bathroom and one chair were on the lower floor. Really? No thanks at my age! Second room looked fine,... More

This is an excellent choice for one or two nights in Naples. The hotel is situated around the corner from Garibaldi station, where the Circumvesuviana trains leave for Herculaneum and Pompeii. The Alibus shuttle from the airport stops in Garibaldi square, about 50 metres from the staton entrance and perhaps 75 from the hotel. This is a very inexpensive way... More

Dear guest, Thank you for sending us your nice review through Tripadvisor! We are happy that you had a such pleasant stay at our hotel. In a few lines you underlined the main characteristics of our hospitality: helpful staff, a good restaurant – offering typical Neapolitan dishes as well as international ones – and our original and unique furniture. I have been at grand "hotel" europa for 3 nights, and they were 3 nights too many. I have paid for a room with bad air-conditioning, lousy free wi-fi access, and by access I mean you spend hours waiting to be connected and then when you finally are so lucky to get access you realise that the hotel has blocked... We chose this hotel due to its vicinity of Naples' Main Station. So every trip to destinations like Herculaneum, Amalfi Coast, Capri etc. was easily and quickly accessible. Also the Airport bus stops nearby - it would be VERY hard to get there using your own car and finding a parking possibility. The hotel itself is very good, silent during... More

I have booked the hotel when I was in a rush using trivago.com and according to the rating and the pictures there. It is a 3 star hotel but I have been to hostels that are way better. The pillowcase was broken. The closet stank of mould and the base near the fridge was filthy. The breakfast was a joke,... More
