Napoli. The Excelsior is an SPG property, but not Westin; more like Westin on steroids. Perhaps the nicest hotel in Europe I've ever stayed, and certainly the most expensive. Our room had a double balcony overlooking Capri in the distance and closer by, the millionaire yachted marina.. The massive marble hydro jacuzzi tub could have easily accommodated half your neighbors,... More

Firstly this is a lovely old hotel. Gives you a real feel of how things would have been a few years ago. Beautifully decorated and staff are great. However - on the second night of our stay we went up to the terrace for our evening meal to be greeted by a large film crew and an innumerable number of... More

This hotel is in probably the best location on the waterfront in Naples, overlooking the sea with Mount Vesuvius in the distance. Offering old world charm and a chandelier and silk form of Italian luxury, it represents great vale for money. Drinks and breakfast on the pretty rooftop deck, surrounded by greenery and quaint white wrought iron tables and decor,... More

Arguably the best location in Naples. Great View from the restaurant on the 7th floor, and breakfast is a must. Rooms are very nice, and service staff is above average. If you are looking for a home base for the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento may be a better spot, but you couldn't ask for more if you are planning on staying... More

We spent a night at this hotel at the end of a fabulous holiday touring around Italy. We had a late flight so asked if it was possible to keep one of the rooms a little later than the usual checkout time. We were told we could but only if we paid €100. Obviously the hotel wasn't fully booked. There... More

Stayed here for two nights using SPG points. Room was large (king), clean, and the air conditioning worked... but with no view (none was expected given an award stay). My SPG status did not qualify for complementary breakfast. The charge for breakfast was €30 (...no, thanks). Seventh floor outdoor bar and restaurant was nice for an evening drink. Obviously, quite... More

This was our 6th stay at the Excelsior. Simply the best in Napoli. Fantastic location facing the sea, Vesuvio and Castello dell'Uovo. Excellent service and superb huge "belle epoque" rooms, entirely renovated. The breakfast on the top floor terrace is a dream.

Stayed in Naples for 3 days on our way down to the Amalfi Coast. I was pleasantly surprised how much our family enjoyed Naples and would recommend it to others. As for the Excelsior, we took the train down from Rome and hopped in a taxi to the hotel. To my surprise when we arrived, there was no doorman or... More

Summary: Old, 'grand', formerly luxury collection hotel in a good location for a touristic visit, possible amazing views, dated rooms with flaws and totally unacceptable service attitude of the staff encountered during this stay. Recommended only for people who can appreciate 'antic rooms & furniture' to a level, that they are willing to accept a dated and nonfunctional room experience... More

Very professional staff and very helpful. Greatly located. Parking was a problem but the staff had a solution in nearby parking. Quiet, clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend it and revisit it the next time i'm in Napoli.
