If you've ever seen the British sitcom "Fawlty Towers" then you have an idea of the Britannia experience...if you haven't seen it and insist on going to this wretched place, then please rent the tape to get an idea of what you're in for. I nicknamed the manager Baslio Fawlty. A very nice place, likely about the 1960's, and not... more

We were searching for a cheap place to sleep in Costiera Amalfitana and we found Britannia Hotel on Expedia so we booked it for one night. It doesn't deserves its three stars, but we know for sure that many other three star hotels in the zone are exactly like this : you have to pay for where you are, not... more

We booked a last minute holiday with Newmarket Travel, we arrived a Brittania late evening. First impression was ok. Till we went in the room, ugh. Horrible. No AC, all I can say is the sheets were clean. Hotel was dull with a lot of battle ship grey paint, no pool, breakfast was boring and the road outside was leathal.... more

The hotel is situated on a very busy main road with no pavements so it is unsafe for families with young children or elderly travellers with walking difficulties. The hotel has no swimming pool, air conditioning or even a nice terrace to relax and have a drink on. The decore is very drab and the "garden" is nothing more than... more

This was an awful hotel with no AC and towels that are as thick as bed sheets. The bed spread did not look like it had been washed in a month. The sheets were fairly clean, but everything else is very worn. If you request a kingsize bed they just push two twin beds together. The view is ok from... more

This hotel was GROSS. It might be okay for those looking to save a buck and don't mind sacrificing cleanliness, but for those who want their towels to be hair-free and clean, this is not the place for you. The towels in my bathroom were dirty and had hair on them. The towels are also of that tablecloth quality, which... more

Location: Nice place, it is about a mile above Sorrento, so be prepared to walk (or take the bus) to get here. We usually took the bus down in the morning and walked back at night. Please note that when walking, it is quite a bit higher than Sorrento (elevation wise). When arriving, I recommend taking the Taxi from the... more

Older hotel, but clean room, and nice staff. We also paid in the 80+ euro range with parking right in front and a beautiful view of the sea, We were a 10-15 minute or so walk from the center. more

For the 80-odd Euros we paid for this hotel in the beautiful town of Sorrento, I consider it value for money. As well as being a superb town itself, Sorrento is an ideal base for travelling to regional places of interest such as Pompeii and the island of Capri. The location of the hotel is a 15-20 minute walk from... more

I totally adored this hotel. The staff are so friendly and at night we would sit outside together or, indoors in the living area. The food is superb - Lauro is the best cheff in the world!!! I wish i could go again just to see him & the rest of the staff. more
