I must concur with nearly all the comments made previously about this hotel. The best thing about it is the location. Some of the staff were very friendly and helpfull. We experienced nothing but help and friendliness from the staff at this hotel, particularly in relation to food as one of our daughters has several severe food allergies. Stayed halfboard at the Ascot in September. Location is great central to town on a busy main road, but you don't hear the traffic at night. Breakfast left a lot to be desired, anything cooked was at an extra cost, continental breakfast was of very limited selection even by continental standards! before leaving on holiday I have read previous reviews and felt quite heartened. However the previous reviewers omitted to reveal that there is mould growing around the shower and bath. Hotel is in excellent location but that is only plus. Very small cramped pool area and hotel is in general need of upgrade. The lady on desk duty during the day is excellent and very helpful but not the other staff. They give the impression they are not too interested in dealing with you and even getting key is given... more

We would like to back up all the recent reviews especially that by chestermum. We stayed there for the last two weeks of july. The weather was fantastic. We can only repeat what has been said about this hotel. It's lcoation is the best bit. All you have to do is cross the road on the zebra crossing outside the hotel and keep walking for 5 mins and you are in the heart of Sorrento. we love the hotel the staff cannot do enouth for you.the rooms are cleaned every day;the food was the best,and we was not far from the piazas.we had a lovely swimming pool and it was cleaned every day.we hired a car from a diffrent company but they did not provide garage space ,but hotel ascot mamaged to get us space... more

e stayed half board at this hotel in July 2009 for 7 nights and cannot fault it. We stayed on the first floor in room 116 which was a corner room with a large balcony. Air conditioning and the fridge were both free of charge. Previous reviews quoted a charge for these ammenities but the hotel have now obviously scrapped... more
