I recently stayed here with a friend and for us it was ideal. Walking distance to the centre of town, very clean, a small pool for a late afternoon dip and English speaking, perfectly civil guests. The view over the bay of Naples wasn't bad either! We went with Thomas Cook on a half-board basis. I feel we got reasonable... More

I am currently staying this hotel, having got a last minute deal with Sunway.ie (thanks girls!), and we arrived after a very pleasant hour and a bit coach journey from Naples. By the time we got off the coach, our bags had already been brought up the steps to reception. Check in took 20 seconds. I gave my name, I... More

Having read some mixed reviews before we arrived we hoped for the best. We were not disappointed - as the more positive reviews state this is a friendly, comfortable, traditional hotel. Our room was clean and functional with clean towels and sheets daily during our two week stay. We asked for a quieter room with a sea view and ended... More

A very traditional hotel, we really felt as if we were experiencing true Italy unlike other modern hotels where quite frankly you could be any where in the world. Our room was clean and well serviced. The wooden shutters on the balcony door were really effective as they shut out any noise from the busy road outside. They also shut... More

The hotel is in a good location if you don't mind a 15 - 20 minute walk down to Sorrento, with about 500 metres of that without a path. Food - breakfast was different breads, meats, cheese, eggs and fruit. Dinner was small portions with limited choice, we only ate there once. Staff - I felt uneasy coming into reception.... More

A warm friendly hotel, we couldn't have asked for more, the staff were friendly and professional at all times. It was a clean hotel with authentic decor, the only downside was the walk into Sorrento was a little scary as the first part didn't have a path but we soon got used to it. We'd certainly go back

Sorrento is expensive let no one doubt that and is in many ways a rich man's playground so finding a reasonable and value for money hotel is difficult. However the Metropole fits the bill. Overlooking the town and Bay of Sorrento with lovely views it is a short walk outside the town, has rooms on three floors, a swimming pool,... More

Firstly lets start with the good points- The staff were very friendly and helpful. Now onto the bad ones.. Hotel was clean but very dated and shabby, and would of benefited from a mini bar and safe (which they said they did have). For a hotel in the heart of Italy, the cuisine was not very authentic, which was disappointing... More

Just returned from a brilliant holiday in Sorrento staying at this hotel. Superb value booked through Thomas Cook/Airtours at the start of May for end of May arrival. The hotel is well cared for and a credit to the friendly management and staff. We stayed half board and found the food great, it was beyond our expectations for the cost... More
