We had a lovely time at the Metropol, clean, a little dated, but charming. The food was good and the staff were friendly. To visit Pompeii just catch the train, really easy and cheap. Also the regular bus service travels the Amalfi coast.

We have just returned from a week at the Hotel Metropole. The hotel was clean with good decoration and good food - something for everyones taste. Our room overlooked the garden which was quiet - apart from the odd motorcycle on the top road. All the staff were very helpful and it seemed a happy hotel.

Hotel clean and roomy but strangely out of date. It needs a professional "make-over". Ambviance creepy with odd staff. One nice wine waiter, but the rest could be out of a Munster film. The food was unbelievable. The main course on the "Gala" evening was tinned peas, frozen crochet potatoes and a very thin slice of meat covered in salty... More

Just spent a week at the Hotel Metropole in Sorrento. We were on the third floor with a sea view and after reading reviews about the noisy road, were a little concerned that it would keep us awake. We had a small balcony with a lovely view of Vesuvius and doors which opened above the road, but with the doors... More

We stayed at this hotel in early October. We had not pre booked but turned up on spec. We were invited to view a room. Our room was overlooking the garden at the rear. It was peaceful and clean if a little dated. Bed was very comfortable and the room was a good size. Breakfast was included and this was... More

The hotel was not only on a steep hill, but right on a main road with constant traffic noise and beeping horns all day long. Walk into Sorrento precarious because of the lack of pavements. Luckily there was a bus service for the way back, but you diced with death crossing the road to the hotel. Hotel was very basic... More

We stayed there last week for one week. From when I contact the hotel to leaving, the service has been great. Alex and Alfonso were always happy to help and on occasions went out of their way. I had internet problems and it was fixed in 2 mins. Very responsive. The bedrooms are a good size with a very comfortable... More

We visited on the 24th September for a week. The hotel is situated half way up a hill with no pavement for approx 300 yards. The walk into Sorrento is nerve racking at first due to the erratic drivers but you get used to it and it becomes quite enjoyable as the views are spectacular. The hotel itself is very... More

Spent a weeks holiday with Omega Holidays based in this hotel, nice comfortable room with view across the bay to Naples and to Vesuvius. The hotel is set on a busy junction which gave us a good view of the Italian way of driving. The staff are very helpful and the food was very nice with a different choice every... More
