Perfect location, 5 minutes to the Circumvesuviana train-station and bus stops for Amalfi-coast (however I don't recommend anybody to take these buses...). Staff was nice, good English, helpfull. Room is large, balcony with sea view, AC works perfectly. Pool is small, but usable, with sunbeds, good place to relax. Beach is 10-15 minutes walk, and must be paid cc.30-35 euro/2... More

Great location close to the main square but the hotel is quite dated and in need of refurbishment. Rooms facing the main road are quite noisy. However, staff are wonderful and very helpful. Breakfast is typically Italian - poor - and we went out to a café most days. Rooms are very clean and a decent size but bathrooms are... More

Returned home yesterday after 9 days at Cesare Augusto. We had a 5th floor room that was spacious and clean with a large balcony . I am not sure why people complain about traffic noise, this is Sorrento and if you stay in the centre or along Corsa Italia the noise of scooters can be loud for me it's part... More

Just returned from 7 days at The Cesare Augusto where we found the hotel to be a bit shabby and in need of modernising. The bedrooms are of a good size as is the bathroom however a complete overhaul is required to bring upto 4 star standard, the rooms are cleaned daily so no complaints here. The amenities in the... Great location as it is close to the main square, shops, restaurants and rail/bus station. We stayed on the 4th floor overlooking the street, and we didn't find it particularly noisy at all. The hotel could do with up-dating a little as some of the furnishings were a bit tired looking, but overall the hotel and our room were kept... More

This hotel is in an excellent location with very friendly and efficient staff, great food & wine and very CLEAN. Yes the hotel is a little outdated with its furnishings but is very clean - we could smell furniture polish in the corridors and every time we returned to our room after the maid had been in you could smell... Stayed at this hotel on a package tour with Riveria Travel. In Room 510 - extremely noisy from the traffic below. Did request a room overlooking the bay and Vesuvius and asked to be moved on arrival but was told there were no other rooms apart from one which was further down the corridor with an even a worse view... We have been to Sorrento twice and both times stayed in the Cesare Augusto, as my wife has trouble walking far ,it is really close to the centre with all fine eating and drinking places within a 5 minute walk, the service at breakfast and dinner and the food is second to none, there is a pool on the top... We stayed for a week at the Cesare Augusto and we were not disappointed. From check in the staff were courteous, efficient and helpful. Our room was on the 3rd floor and although it could do with a revamp it was still very comfortable. We were on half board and the food was lovely. Breakfast was typical continental fare with... More
