Stayed in the Cesare Augusto last July and have been meaning to come on here and sing it’s praises ever since. 1st perceptions upon arrival were that the hotel was slightly dated with a bit of an 80’s feel, the marble floors and surfaces all hinting that the hotel had probably once catered for the needs of the top end... more

My father and I stayed here for a week in August 2007 as part of a Thompsons holiday (our second visit to Sorrento). The hotel is perfectly situated for the town centre, railway station etc and is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The rooms are nothing fancy - the hotel itself is more like a 3 star - but are clean... more

Modern, clean, room larger than expected. Breakfast was more than expected. Coffe was the problem, but then I expected that. Towels were more like table linens, but we were only there for one night, so it was not a problem. Within walking distance to the center of town. Would go there again. more

I don't get the complaints about the breakfast I've read in the past. No one in our group of 7 found anything wrong with it. We had a geat variety to choose from and the quality was fine. If anything, their version of American coffee wasn't great but it was not a problem. We did not eat any other meals... more

Rooms; On the plus side, were clean, comfortable, air conditioned and well sound proofed. On the negative, the towels are like tea towels and some of the furnishings a tad "tired" looking. Location is fantastic, makes this hotel worth a second visit Pool; small but great views, clean and very peacefull, some of the sun beds could do with being... more

My 23 yo daughter and I spent Easter week in this hotel and were highly satisfied. We have traveled all over Europe and don't understand the complaints about breakfast. There were plenty of options. The location is clearly a plus, with a quick walk up the road to the train station, where also the Naples airport bus has a stop.... more

I Stayed at the Cesare Augusto for a week in July last year and have only decided to put a review on here because of all the bad reviews about this great hotel. We Got to the hotel late due to flight times from UK, and when we got our key, found a salad in our room. We were tired... more

I stayed here for four nights in June and overall found the stay quite enjoyable. The room is rather sparse but decently sized. The TV was quite small with very little choices, and only CNN in English. The location is very convenient to the main piazza and train station. Short walk to both. The room has a nice balcony, although... more

This hotel was very well located and the rooms were nice. Its very ugly from the outside and looks a little run down though. The breakfast was pretty poor and for the £115 a night, I would have expected better (this was the most expensive hotel on a 3 week tour of Italy and by far the most expensive -... more

We stayed in the Cesare Augusto from 3-10 August. Didn't really have much choice of hotel because of various problems (we'd originally booked the Antiche Mura) As usual, I read the reviews before booking so had an idea of what to expect. The hotel is quite dated, with none of the charm of the Antiche Mura, Tramontano, Syrene or Continental.... more
