Old stone building with amazing architecture, great charm and character. Room clean, lovely decorated in old fashion, beautiful renovated bathroom with traditional ceramic tiles. Only fault – the mattress was somewhat uncomfortable. Stayed 10 days in August in double deluxe sea view room, number 4 – the corner room with two balconies. Certainly a room with a view. Completely quiet,... More

We stayed 3 nights in August in a double deluxe sea view room - we were given room 2 which has an ENORMOUS terrace with amazing views of the bay and Sorrento. the room itself was very nice, the terrace was terrific. hotel staff are very friendly, parking is extra (5 Euros/day). we ate in the restaurant one night -... Friendly staff, very accomodating. Restaurant for dinner very good but a but pricey. Breakfast ok; could be better. Beach access, umbrellas, chairs for a fee. Discount for hotel guests. Within walking distance of town. Will definey recommend. This was the view from our room.

This hotel must have the best view in Sorrento. Ask for room 24 and you will not be disappointed, your own private terrace on 2 aspects, and huge, with outdoor shower and loungers and views to die for. Huge bed and very comfy. Although the hotel is a little dated in the bedroom/bathroom decor, the staff and the food make... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in July. The hotel is quite charming. Breakfast and dinner were very good and staff was very helpful. The private beach could use some updating to make it more enticing. Hotel is a little away from the city and buses were not very reliable up there. I would suggest the hotel use a shuttle-it... More

The setting of this hotel is stunning, both for rooms and the restaurant. It has a lift down to its own private beach and the decor is well maintained in a traditional style. The views from our room across the Bay of Naples were stupendous. The place was clean and the staff were friendly. If I have a criticism it... More

Picked this hotel at random off the internet and was absolutely delighted with our choice. A mix of old and new with superb views across the Bay of Naples to Mt Vesuvius and Naples itself. Easy walk to and from the centre of Sorrento with access to many restaurants. Reception and restaurant staff were English speaking (thankfully) and very helpful... More

This was supposed to be a 4 star hotel, but my room was on a floor not reachable by the elevator. I could do the stairs, but not happily. Since the hotel is located on a cliff there were many stairs and get down to the pebble covered beach is extremely difficult. When I arrived there was no tv remote... More

We stayed at the hotel Tonarella for 3 nights. The location was great, just a little after the touristic center of the city. We try to stay away from the tourists crowd . The view from our room was breathtaking! We had a twin suite with a large balcony . I loved the authentic Mediterranean style design, but I must... More

My wife and I had a lovely 5-night stay at La Tonnarella, June 13-18, 2015! We were very pleased with all aspects of this hotel, some of which we list below. 1. The room was very comfortable and the terrace is a must, providing open views of Mt. Vesuvius across the Gulf of Naples. The grounds of the hotel are... More
