Our friend recommended us the hotel and we are so gratewful to her. It's a great place to stay with fabulous views of the sea, Vesuvius and the city when you walk from hotel for shopping or amusement. The staff are so helpful and communicable, we felt at home due their care and attention. You can ask lots of questions... More

We spent one night in July. Wish we had spent two nights. Hotel Desiree is a small, well run, clean, humble hotel just up the hill from the Center of Sorrento. The staff were friendly and attentive. The room was simple and clean. The bathroom was large and clean. The shower was fabulous. The breakfast was very good and the... More

We stayed here in July 2014. As others have noted this hotel is about a 10 ten minute walk from the center of Sorrento. It's uphill but not especially strenuous, plus the views of the town and coast are gorgeous. It has a nice little beach that is shared with another hotel. It's great for swimming (bring flip-flops or water... More

We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon. It was a return visit, and we will be returning again and again. The staff is so gracious and accomadating, especially Antonio. They speak 4 or 5 different languages. The hotel is very very affordable. It is in a great location, away from the hustle and bustle of everything, about a 10-15... More

I stayed here with a group of 23 people in June/July 2014. There is a wide variety of rooms so you should ask questions when booking. Some have balconies which are nice. Some have nice views. Some take more stairs to get to. In general though they were all comfortable and convenient. Note they do not have air conditioning. Most... More

This hotel is a hidden gem...from the rooftop deck / bar to the quaint tiled floors throughout; from the cliffside elevator to the scenic walk to the pebbled seaside beach; from the knowledgeable, go-above-and-beyond owners and staff (hands down) to the amazing breakfasts and organic products provided to all guests; from the fair cost to the personal service (even from... I'm writing this review from the rooftop bar 3 days in to our week long stay. I really can not rate this hotel highly enough. It's not ultra modern, the rooms aren't huge, it's a 10-15 minute walk from the town. BUT the thing that sets this hotel apart from any I've been in is the absolute commitment of the... More

We especially enjoyed the rooftop deck and the breakfast with more than just pastry: yogurt, cereal and more. Room and plumbing were nice with lovely patio, a glimpse of the sea. Many steps down to our room. Staff was great. We liked being up on Via Capo. Ten minute walk to town, maybe twenty minutes to the train station (on... More

Amazing views in a quiet location. Rooms a bit dated and bathroom disappointing. Hand held shower at hip level so difficult to wash hair! Breakfast adequate. Staff friendly and very helpful. Private beach readily accessed. Easy walk into main centre of Sorrento with spectacular views and phot opportunities on the way. Certainly recommend.

What I should have expected for the price. Great staff and views from the room and the rooftop deck. Capped every night off by buying a bottle at the store and enjoying it on the roof. Included breakfast was adequate (breads, cereal, yogurt, cheese, plus the best coffee). Rooms need to be better maintained. Floors were dirty and bathrooms had... More
