This hotel has everything: history, old world charm, ambiance, wonderful location, outstanding views! We were lucky enough to have a corner room to soak up views of Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples. Outstanding staff and delicious breakfast in their panoramic dining room.

We had a room without a balcony, with a view of the parking lot, but honestly, it didn't take away from our experience here. The view from breakfast and the bar made up for it! It simply is amazing - I believe it's a former residence literally built into the side of the cliff. It's breathtaking! It's also a short... More

My husband and I stayed at this wonderful hotel for a week in November. This beautiful old hotel is full of history, with many famous writers and celebrities having stayed over the centuries. We had a junior suite with a balcony overlooking the sea and Vesuvius. Very clean and excellent service. Breakfast was very good with hot and cold offerings,... More

Imperial Hotel Tramontano is a BEAUTIFUL seaside retreat. The views off the back of the hotel towards the sea are stunning - make sure book one of these rooms! The hotel itself is also just as beautiful and the staff is incredibly nice, attentive and helpful. I would definitely recommend this amazing hotel and will forever remember my stay there!

You will be hard pushed to find a more perfect location from which to explore Sorrento. A short walk from the town centre and both harbours in this beautiful city. The views of Vesuvius and the bay of Naples are breathtaking and the closeness of the town made it great for strolls during the evening through the narrow streets full... More

My husband and I just finished a visit to the Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, all the while staying for four nights at this lovely, historic hotel. Many writers and poets got their inspiration at this lovely site, and it's position in the city made our stay very convenient. It is right on the bay and just to the end... More

Having met my late husband here in Sorrento 1973, this superb Hotel has my wonderful memories, and calls me back. Now I return whenever I can to meet up with business associates friends and family. I adore the superior double room with the sea view which gives me every comfort, (spotlessly clean) ,my own little suit, bathroom and walk in shower, bathrobe and... More

My wife and I stayed at the Tramontano for a week on the occasion of our tenth wedding anniversary in April 2014. The staff was tremendous, the room over looking the bay of Naples (a junior suite) was extremely large, well appointed and beautiful. Breakfast was a highlight as the views of the bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius were... More

We enjoyed a five night off-season stay in the Imperial Tramontano with three teenage grandchildren. The hotel is a traditional luxe property with the pluses (many) and the minuses (few) of that style. The location is superb - on a cliff overlooking the Bay of Naples, in a quiet zone five minutes on foot from the Piazza Tasso and ten... More

We booked a room with a sea view and we were not disappointed - a small balcony overlooking the bay, with a visiting cruise liner on most days, and below us the beach and sun decks. The room itself had an impressive tiled floor and separate seating and sleeping areas as well as a good-sized bathroom. Breakfast was pretty good... More
