Just returned from a wonderful 4 night stay at the Excelsior Vittoria and we haven't got a bad word to say about it - the setting is fantastic - a short walk through the serene, beautifully maintained and sweet smelling gardens and you're in Piazza Tasso with all its brilliant madness, cars hooting, traffic police blowing their whistle, pedestrians sauntering... The Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms are spacious, clean, and the ocean side rooms have amazing views. The staff is friendly, helpful, and very nice. The hotel has gardens with flowers and orange/lemons trees. It is very centrally located in Sorrento but is set back from the main road, giving... More

Our 15 day trip to Italy included stays in Rome (4), Florence (3), Venice (3) and Sorrento (4). If we planned the trip again, we would not change anything about the cities we visited, the number of days in each or the hotels we chose. Using each city as a home base, we were able to explore so much of... More

Just got back from staying at the Grand Hotel Vittoria (Sorrento), lovely hotel with great view but you will be paying for it. We were in Room 242 and although this is a nice room on arrival there were two flaws, firstly the bath would not empty, although this was repaired quickly this should not have happened in the first place,secondly... Located right off the main piazza and overlooking the sea, this is a very nice hotel. Not cheap, but a decent value. Excellent restaurant and very nice buffet breakfast. The rooms were comfortable, clean and well decorated. The hotel itself is spectacular and the staff friendly and helpful. The ONLY knock is that the WiFi (which is free) did not... More

This is a superb old style grand hotel on the cliffs in the centre of Sorrento. Everything we needed was within walking distance, and the sea view rooms have the most glorious view of Vesuvius and Bay of Naples. Service was outstanding and all staff helpful to all family members, from ages 9 to seniors. Nothing was too much trouble... More

Fantastic hotel recommended by friends. We spent 5 nights. The hotel was very comfortable with very courteous staff. There was a beautiful breakfast room with a great choice. Views across Naples bay from the room were awesome. The pool was very modern with great service. Would definitely stay there again.

Amazing and profoundly beautiful. Attention to every detail. The staff were attentive, kind, professional. The location was exceptional and walking distance to historic old town, and restaurants. Breakfast was superb! Would highly recommend!

Most people, when they go to Teh Amalfi Coast, go to Positano. I loved it but not like I adore Sorrento. One of the most beautiful hotels in the world is The Grand Excelsior Vittoria. Family owned, exquisitely run, views of Vesuvius from every sea view room and one of the great pools in the whole of Italy. The grounds... More

This hotel was awesome! It was my favorite hotel on our two week tour of Italia. The "American" breakfast was outrageous. It had everything and then some! We loved sitting by the window on the side of the room. The room was very very nice with nice amenities. The bed and bedding were nice and luxurious. The staff was so... More
