We booked this hotel after some research on trip advisor and are not disappointed! Antonio runs the self-catering villa with his Mama (the apartments have been family-run since after WWII), who are both very friendly. We stayed for 3 nights, and put down a 30% deposit at the time of reservation. We paid 70 euros a night and think this... More

We chose Villa Elisa partly after reading the reviews on here. We always like to go self-catering and book independently but weren't sure about staying in the middle of Sorrento as we usually try and stay in villages. However, glad we picked it because we spent 3 days (with the Artecard) visiting Pompeii, Heculaneum, Vesuvius and Oplontis, which are really... More

We just returned from 17 nights staying at Villa Elisa. My wife and I were traveling with our 15 (now 16) month old daughter. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly. The apartment was set up with a baby cot (crib) as promised but also, to our surprise, a high chair as well. We had to do some baby proofing, and... More

My partner and sister and her husband recently did a trip throughout Italy together. One part of our trip was to stay in Sorrento and do day trips to Capri, Positano, Amalfi etc. As soon as we arrived in Sorrento we took a taxi to find Villa Elisa as we had lots of luggage and stuff, but once we worked... If you'r elooking for 5 star luxury then maybe this isn't the place for you but as comfortable, cosy and convenient place to stay right in the centre of things it would be hard to find a better place. Our room was a good size and even had a bath... a rarity in Italy! Our kitchenette had a double ring... More

Our trip began in Rome with a stay in Sorrento for a week. We wanted a taste of living in Italy and Villa Elisa filled that desire. It surpassed all the reviews and research I did before booking, not to mention it's a tremendous value. Excellent location for exploration of the Amalfi Coast, Capri etc. Easy to reach from Rome... I stayed in VIlla Elisa for a week in July 09 and, having heard Sorrento was a bit of a tourist trap, was extremely happy with the value for money on offer. Right in the centre of the town (but not noisy, thanks to the courtyard separating the rooms from the street), Elisa is run by a very friendly family... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located in the most beautiful square of Sorrento are some attractive Mediterranean-style studio apartments (each with its own combined living and kitchen area), giving onto a pretty private courtyard which is full of flowers and plants from early spring until the late autumn. Private transport is not necessary due to the close proximity of the apartments to bus, train and ferry services. In this way, the island of Capri, the city of Naples, the ancient Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum as well as the stunning Amalfi Coast are all easily accessible. The apartments enjoy a superb central location in the very heart of Sorrento. In just a few steps you can reach the little lanes of the old town with charming shops and cafés; the cloister of St. Francis with its concerts and exhibitions; excellent seafood restaurants and a small beach and bathing area. The lively main square of the town with its beautiful atmosphere is very close by. Alternatively, within an easy ten minute walk you can find yourself in the quaint fishing village of Marina Grande. ... more   less
