We were booked in to the Grand Hotel for 3 nights in mid February. Trip Advisor's comments led me to the decision. After checking in and finding the hotel to be fully booked with 3 conferences we were given a room on the 4th floor, as far from the foyer as possible and no wifi what so ever. We weren't... More

Okay room but air conditioning struggled to keep room cool and the weather was not hot. Watch reception as they tried to charge us for breakfast in our room. The room information that indicates a charge for this is only in italian. The english literature makes it look like it is free. Its about a 10 minute walk to train... More

Large comfortable rooms. Good facilities such as restaurant, pool, etc. The set menu is good value for money. Both restaurant and reception staff are helpful and friendly. Good location. Easy walking access to city centre. The hotel is located on the seafront. It is expensive to use the hotel parking garage, but there is public parking lot behind the hotel... More

I think, this hotel is best in the city: good location, short walking distance from the central station, shopping area, seaside and the city center. Modern, comfortable, clean hotel with the fantastic night view.

We arranged our trip to the Amalfi Coast , Italy through a Travel Agent in Australia and for some reason she booked us into the Grand Hotel , Salerno for 6 nights.. The room was OK but the hotel is a large , cold , hospital like structure with no character. The service was almost non existent . Apart from... More

We had booked economy rooms for a five night stay before continuing to Rome. We found the staff helpful, polite and friendly at all times. The en-suite rooms were clean and tidy and the breakfasts were of the usual European standard in a good hotel, certainly nothing to complain about. My room looked out over a car park and my... More

nice smart hotel - the breakfasts are the usual cheese and ham variety that you get everywhere in Italy and walking down to the area down the road where all the bars and restaurants are gets a bit tedious - but apart from that good hotel runs a parking service for your car / van

I really dont understand why this hotel has recieved such bad reviews. The hotel is immaculate and situated right on the shore front. Ok, Salerno itself isnt exactly the cleanest of places, but the hotel is great. Our room was clean, spacious and we had a large balcony. We were located on the 3rd floor and had excellent views. The... More

The room number 176 was fairly big.Clean beds, the bathroom is dated- the bathroom door was rotted, Considering I had no advanced booking, I was lucky to get this double room for the price of a single (60 Euros p.n). Breakfast was excellent. There is a private beach (Lido) across the hotel. The front desk staff did their job. Not... More
