Stayed at this property on Oct. 27 as a group leader. The room (807) was a dank, smelly cell across from the railroad station. The corridor was poorly lit and directions to the room were confusing at best. 807 was below the second floor bit above the first. The shower was a combination of rust and mold with a slippery... The hotel was great value and is close to the public beach and the train station. It is a large hotel. The room was huge and well appointed. There were two bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a tub. The bed was wonderful so we had good sleeps in the quiet of the room. The balcony overlooked the... More

Although the hotel is a good value it has no Italian flavor. Our room 133 was a huge corner suite, two rooms and two full baths. Fabulous view. Giovanni was most helpful as was the other staff who we encountered. The location is a convenient base for day trips. The hotel was very clean.

Location looking towards the dramatic cliffs of the Amalfi coast made a good one night staging post for us without diverting too far off the motorway. Good buffet breakfast. Secure car parking involved driving to a garage away from the hotel and being driven back. There was open parking in the vicinity, if your car was as dented as the... More

We stayed at this hotel in July, and had a great time there. The price was affordable, given that it was summer in Italy, and the rooms were comfortable and clean. We used Salerno as a jumping off point to explore Pompeii, Rome, and the Amalfi Coast, and this hotel was a good place to do that. Because we came... More

The Grand Hotel Salerno is not as Grand as maybe it once was. The hotel is nice but no Grand. The rooms are fine but once again nothing special. We had a nice view from our 2nd floor room of both the water and the mountains. I thought the included breakfast was nice, just walk in and enjoy. We did... More

The hotel does not stand for its rating, despite it is in a convenient location close to the lively city centre and to the peer for boat trips to Amalfi and Positano (best way to get there!). We found service at breakfast average with one very unkind young maid (others were very kind instead) We have stayed two nights on... More

If you read my reviews I'm not a negative person, but I can't in good conscience send people here. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the view, if you get a room with an ocean view.. I booked my room in March for an August wedding, I asked for ocean view, non smoking,2 beds, and a shower.... More

Good time had. The new sorrento apparently. Beautuful place and hotel let us get the most out of salerno. A good walk to town about 25 mins to main area but a lovely walk. 8 mins exactly to the beach.. which aint the best beach on the planet. Hotel professional and a bit businessy. But all fine. We had a... More

Pretty ordinary hotel, nothing special. Take the room with sea view, however it's the salsa night sometimes. You have to use the bath cap in the hotel's pool (3 euro). The restaurant on the beach, opposite to the hotel is awful, avoid.
