I stayed at the Hotel Montestella in October for 3 days with a number of colleagues. My room was clean, a good size, and fairly quiet. The bathroom was clean but had seen better days and the shower didn't work, but there was a bath. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room but I don't know whether that's standard in... More

The star here was the service. Very helpful and went above and beyond. We asked if there would be gluten free options for breakfast - usually I end up with fruit but at Montestella the waiter saw our room key and said "Senza glutine!" and came back with a tray full of gluten free goodies - bread, biscuits, crackers, muesli,... Mediocre rooms - but quiet, clean - but not neat. Stunning views from the rooftop when having breakfast. Breakfast - for everyone's taste (both sweet and savory). Staff - friendly and welcoming. Location - close to train/bus stations.

The staff were delightful, the room was comfortable and spacious, breakfast on the terrace was simple but ample. The hotel is on a pedestrian walkway with just a few cars. Music on the street in the evenings. Great bars with patios for an aperitivo and a few fine restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Just 6 minutes to the waterfront... More

They gave me the worst room... But since it's the only one I know, of course i dont' recommend this place. If you can afford a most expensive room probably the quality improves. But I think that a room like that is not what you think you find in a place like that. Good luck!

We stayed here because we need to catch an early train! The hotel is average, well it is a three star. Can't expect much. Nevertheless, it locates in a main walking street where there are alot of shops around. It is around 10 mins walk to the train station. Even though I don't expect much because it is so cheap... Newly renovated, fairly modern. Clean inside. Nice little bar / lounge area. Right on the main corso. Hard to beat the location. Price is very reasonable. Rooms are small, but that is Italy. Perfect place to walk to old town and to the lungomare.

Stayed here for 3 nights in May, 2014. It's an easy walk from the Salerno train station, and as others have stated there is no sign out front. The lobby appears to have been newly renovated and has the look of a cute boutique hotel. Off the lobby is a computer station and lounge area. The front desk staff was... More

3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2014

Stayed on a Saturday and found the noise from the promenade to be annoying. They like to party in Salerno, the streets cleared after 2AM. We both are heavy sleepers but the honking from the nearby cross street and the screams from drunken revelers would wake us occasionally. With that said the hotel staff was grand and the room was... The hotel is in a good location on the main shopping strip located in the newer part of Salerno's centre. It's easily accessible by foot from the train station however as others have stated previously there is no signage anywhere stating the name of the hotel which was frustrating when you're lugging your bags around by foot and can't find...
