Stayed for 3 days while visiting the Amalfi Coast. Great location opposite the train station. Only 3 minute walk to pier servicing most ferries travelling along coast. About 10 minute taxi to Molo Manfredi. Rooms were surprisingly quiet, little noise from traffic due to double doors. Room a bit dated including air con which was a bit noisy in the... More

My husband and I recently drove to Salerno, Italy, where we discovered the Hotel Plaza and its personable owner, Gaetano Schiavo. We were originally interested in staying for one night, but ended up spending four nights in this centrally located hotel with its comfortable, spacious rooms and delicious breakfasts. The price was very reasonable and the all-day car park was... More

Great location across the plaza from the train station, far enough so that you cannot hear the trains and on a pedestrian only street with nice shopping and restaurants. Two blocks away from the water. The hotel was underwhelming on the outside but inside was clean. The staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The room was nice and the bed... More

We paid Euro 90 for one night here on the way from Rome to Matera. We found it to be a good three star hotel. I think that it has been improved since the review in LP. Our room was bright, light and clean. There were brown carpets in the halls but our room had mock-wood flooring. It was not... More

This is a nice, clean, quiet hotel that provides comfort and quality for an excellent price. The breakfast was ample. The service was great, the staff was cordial. The hotel is spotless throughout all areas.

The Lonely Planet guide describes this hotel as convenient, comfortable and charmless - which is almost spot-on if "charmless" refers to the building. This is distinctly unimpressive from the outside and rather dull and functional inside. But the staff are not charmless - they are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is more than adequate; and the rooms are indeed comfortable... More

This hotel opposite train station is very good. Large light room with good sized bathroom & balcony. Comfortable bed & quiet. Ceiling fan a bonus. Breakfast although a small range is good including cereal, fruit, yoghurt, breads & pastries. Staff helpful.

Arriving late at Salerno's rail station we wanted something very nearby. The Plaza was right across the street. Prior to arrival the Hotel staff was very communicative and interested in accommodating our changing schedule. Our lovely room overlooked the plaza. The breakfast buffet and our window table looking onto the walking street was everything we wanted. Turned out the Plaza... More

I stayed here for one night on the way to Amalfi. The hotel is next to the station and convenient for the local transport. The room was basic but clean. The pillows were a little too hard for me and you could hear people talking late at night in the adjoining room. The room had a balcony that looked out... More
