We spent 4 nights here & found it to be perfectly located for trains & ferries, we didn't use the buses, but they are all there too. The room was a good size, the bed was very hard though & made for an uncomfortable sleep. The continental breakfast was good, plenty to choose from, the dining area is also quiet... More

This is a quiet, family owned hotel close to the RR station, but quiet. While others recommend Naples or Sorrento for Pompeii, this is the place. They will help you, fluent in English with everything from trains to getting a bus ticket (needed to get to Naples airport) . It is one stop from Pompeii. There are fabulous restaurants. The... More

We spent one night here on our way up the Amalfi Coast to Sorrento. When we got off the train and walked into the square there was our hotel! What a great location. Within walking distance of everything in Salerno since it is not a very big place. The service was great and the people were very friendly. If we... More

We stayed at the Hotel Plaza, Salerno for one night on 30th May and found it to be a very nice hotel. The guy on reception was not the chattiest (my Italian is a bit rusty) but was pleasant enough – maybe he is a different guy to the miserable one that has been reviewed on here. We were able... More

We stayed here for one night to catch early train the following morning. Hotel is directly opposite train station and it is convenient to walk through the shopping area in Salerno. The hotel seems quite old and the room was basic but clean. Breakfast was limited. It is inexpensive and useful for train station but I probably would not spend... More

We stayed here instead of Salerno as a jump off to the Amalfi Coast. Ferries heading to Positano, Amalfi, and Capri were uncrowded and nice. The hotel was near the historic section of town and all the shops. Best of all, a 1 minute walk from the train station. Our room was on the street and it was quiet at... More

Can't beat the location right across from the train station. Room wasn't large but was adequate in size. Everything very clean and neat. Two minor problems. Couldn't reach the front desk from the phone and there were no instructions on how to use phone. The second was the desk clerk was rather brusk and almost rude. Had to check out... More

Across from train station! Very short walk to ferry to Amalfi etc! Very short walk to inter town buses! Rooms are clean and quiet although they desperately need updating! Shower stall is claustrophobically small and tight to get into -- large people need not try to shower! Great wifi in room!!! Staff are a little surly but they get the... More

This hotel is not a luxury hotel, but we were so happy with it. We went to Salerno to rent a car to go to Scicily for a week, as we were coming back to relocate with trains to go to Lake Como, and other places north. The front desk people spoke English and were very friendly. Everything worked. As... More
