The hotel is in a run down area of Salerno but has everything within it that you would need for a short break. The rooms are clean and modern as is the restaurant and bar areas although a bit pricey. The pool is excellent and very well managed by Fabio who looks after you and won't allow sun beds to... More

On check in, I asked for an iron and was told that the two (yes, two in a 'business' hotel) irons the hotel had were 'out'. The attitude of reception could be described as sulky as best when I asked again in the morning if one was now available I got the same attitude from another receptionist. Had they even... More

Salerno Est is quite a decent hotel, which could be so much better. In particular staff, while nice individually, are not really helpful or welcoming. As a result breakfast was chaotic, the bar was uninviting (tips to get served are welcome!), and the reception was often either unhelpful (perhaps language difficulty) and/or somewhat distant. This detracted from what otherwise is... More

Stayed for one night on our way to Sicily. It was clean and modern and provided free parking. To me its all about the sleeping experience and the bed was excellent and as the hotel is back from the road it was a very quiet location. Our room had a view of the ocean as well. We did not try... More

This is second time I have stayed at this hotel, last time it was new and the staff seemed to be still finding their feet, they are still looking. The site is quite good, if a little out of town, the view from the upper floors from rooms facing the ocean are very good. Try and get a room on... More

Not bad, but not very good. Breakfast very average. Evening menu is very small but expensive! The hotel lies a bit out of the centre. You need a car to get to the centre of Salerno. The staff is t very helpfull. Asked several Things about the region, but the only guy that gave me Some really good advice was... More

This hotel is a good base for exploring the Amalfi coast and is much cheaper and better appointed than most of the hotels along the Amafi coast proper. There is a good pool area and plenty of free parking and free wifi. My only gripe was the price of drinks which were very expensive. The breakfast didn't set the world... More

This Novotel is no good - do not stay here. It's location is poor, the service is ordinary, it is dirty (the coffee machine at the breakfast buffet hasn't been cleaned for a long time) and the bed comfort level is terrible. I have stayed at many Novotel hotels as I use them for a given level of standard, but... More

Not up to the usual Novotel standard. Seemed to be focussed on coach parties. Breakfast ok. Evening menu was small; some items unavailable & the pasta was small quantity & not tasty. Light in men's changing room didn't work. Pool only open 11.00-6.00---wow, that's customer friendly! Friends were given one card for their room & that didn't work. They had... More
