I am now with my friends at home in Portugal and we are only talking about the Amalfi coast and our wonderful stay at Villa Lara, so I remind myself to extend my opinions to all the tourists they are intended to go there for vacation. Lovely place, very good location 5minutes from the centre and the seaside sometimes a... More

This villa is the best and most adorable place to stay. With only 6-7 rooms total, it feels like you're staying at the home of an old friend (however, it's still very clean and professional). Upon arriving we were personally greeted at the top of the steps by a host, who ultimately offered us free red wine every evening before... More

First - everything was clean and well maintained. Second - the staff was outstanding, especially Luigi and Roberto. They served us a wonderful buffet breakfast in the morning before we left to tour and upon arriving home Luigi welcomed us with a glass of wine or Limoncello in the evening. They made recommendations and reservations for us at restaurants. They... More

Very small hotel set back off the main area of Amalfi, but very close to walk to the centre of town, restaurants and beach. We seemed to be just far enough away from the crowds but close enough to be convenient. We just parked the car for 3 days at a close location (extra cost but this is the Amalfi... More

We stayed at the Villa Lara Hotel for 6 nights. We usually avoid staying at "ordinary" hotels, but Villa Lara was a pleasant surprise. The staff made us feel at home, with special mention to Mr. Luigi, whose friendliness and humor won us over. The hotel has immaculate rooms, a spacious lobby, and a cozy veranda that overlooks Amalfi. Breakfast... More

Villa Lara offered a wonderful space to stay in Amalfi. The hotel is set a little back from the main hustle of the town, yet still only a couple of minutes walk to the restaurants and sites if Amalfi. This results in a quiet and relaxing place to stay - great for lazy mornings having breakfast on the outside terrace... More

We stayed here for four nights and would have stayed a couple more if there had been availability. This is the kind of place where you are welcomed with open arms and encouraged to enjoy what the property has to offer: loft-like rooms (ours with a bedside whirlpool tub, living room and stunning views from the balcony). Breakfast is enjoyed... More

Me and my girlfriend have just left villa Lara having had a 3 night stay there. Directions provided on the website are very useful and carrying heavy back packs we were so relieved to see the lift that takes you up to the villa! Once we were no longer carrying our bags we enjoyed taking the steps from the villa... More

The views from the balcony at breakfast make you feel like a millionaire. Nello is a great front of house manager looking to help you get the best of everything - with humour and opinion in the nicest way. His welcoming e mail when you book is so helpful - pay attention - and particularly don't miss the directions on... More

A great 3 night stay in Amalfi (the last stop in our tour following Naples, Sorrento & Positano). Villa Lara is towards the back of Amalfi, a perfect position that's tranquil while being within a few minutes walk of the shops & restaurants. Up at the top of 250 stairs (there's a lift too) it offers great views over Amalfi... More
