Somewhat off the tourist trail, this hotel is well worth the winding journey up through the hills. In short, this hotel was fantastic. The welcome was friendly, and (despite the owners' English being about as good as our Italian) the service was never less than friendly, attentive and helpful. Views from both the rooms and balcony are awesome. The location... More

Foresteria was recommended to us by My Bella Basilicata for a visit to family roots in southern Italy. Our visit was wonderful and the owners (Maria and Pep) are gracious and very welcoming. The accommodations and grounds are beautiful...the food is wonderful. Our family of five stayed four nights. We can recommend the cooking class as fun, too. Beautiful setting,... More

6 couples stayed here for 2 nights as part of a self arranged walkng holiday. We thought that this was one of the best places we have ever stayed. We had walked to it from Pietrapertosa which was challenging. Arriving hot and a little scratched from the undergrowth (our own fault of course) Maria and Peppino had delicious cakes and... More

Warm hospitality, great food, amazing location and most comfortable rooms. This is a unique hotel run by a lovely family. The journey up the slopes from the main road starts you wondering as to where you are going to end up. Keep calm and carry on ! English is not a main language here but Pepino's mother is a French... We absolutely loved our stay at La Forresteria. We spent one night here and the staff was so warm and kind! We had a wonderful 4-course meal in the evening for a good price in a dining room that was so beautiful and genuine. We choose the superior room which was very beatiful and cosy, I don´t believe I have... More

As family-run hotels go, this is without fault. And there's more! When I looked for it on Google Earth (N40.551386 E15.981484) it seemed a bit remote and the views - on Street View - too good to be true. Well, while it's blissfully remote, it has all you need, and the setting is better than I imagined: on a hillside... More

Like the previous reviewer I have nothing but praise for this gem of a place. This was a one night stop over between Naples and Puglia for us and we would have stayed far longer if we had known what a delightful place it was. We were made to feel welcome and like honoured guests from the moment we arrived... More

I cannot recommend La Foresteria enough. We spent two nights and met a couple who were staying for 2 weeks. I could easily see staying that length of time. There is a lot of countryside to explore, hikes, small towns, etc. If you are looking for relaxation this is an idea location - the birds never stop singing during the... More

Greta spot that I wish I had more time to enjoy and explore. Nice large rooms/apartments. Great cooking. And awesome views.

We were welcomed with freshly brewed coffee - our room (the double room of a family unit) was spacious, clean and airy with a covered verandah overlooking a very inviting pool and furthur overlooking a beautiful deep river valley. The setting was very peaceful and welcoming. We sat on the verandah and caught up on our corresondence. In the beautiful... More
