We usually drive into a town and go to the tourist info centre to find our accommodation. In Matera, the tourist info fellow was wonderfully friendly and enthusiastic, and recommended and booked for us Albergo del Sedile. More a B&B than a hotel since there are no facilities that one would associate with a hotel such as bar or roomy reception.
