I went here as part of a group, we stayed two nights.Whilst the hotel decor is very stylish, and the surroundings delightful, the service was not great. Although there were few other guests apart from our group of 50, we were not particularly well served, indeed, there seemed to be a shortage of staff; it was difficult to find anyone... More

We stayed here for 2 nights while on a tour of Puglia and was the best of hotels we stayed in. Initially we were given room 212 which had dirty carpets and peeling paint, after complaining room 415 was provided which as slightly bigger and in much better condition and also had a reasonable view of the rolling countryside.. Breakfast was... More

We stayed here for two nights with at our group. the hotel is in the middle of the country with a bus stop outside(but you would have to be very confident to use the bus!) Our room was medium size with a balcony, but you couldn't see over the balcony as the Laura's bushes were tall.the bathroom was spacious with shower(... More

Stayed here as part of our tour. One the surface it looked nice enough but one big no no for us was when the staff started clearing tables whilst we were still eating our meal. A member of our tour mentioned this to our tour manager who spoke to the hotel. Unfortunately it didn't work as they continued to do... More

Having read most of the reviews concerning this wonderful hotel I am very surprised that many are so negative. People are complaining about the location - so, choose another hotel closer to Matera instead. The location should not come as a surprise if you look on a map ahead of booking! Normally, though, you would have a car when exploring... More

I'm not sure what the hotel was intended to be, with a grand lobby and fancy swimming pool. What it is now is run down, with indifferent service, terrible terrible internet, lousy showers, and badly lit rooms. It is a 20 minute drive to the center of Matera, not convenient to restaurants or the famous sassi. HGI is usually a... More

Excellent hotel with a first class, a high design reception hall, a beautiful park all around (with a Golf Course to be developed soon), a large and well equipped fitness room. The city bus stops right in front of the hotel once/hour, so the city center of Mater can be reached with a cost of 0.80 euros on weekend it... More

As a Hilton Gold Member, I stay almost exclusively at Hamptons, Garden Inns and Doubletree so I was excited to learn that our tour had booked us into one. Sometimes you just want the known comforts. Well we did get the most comfortable bed of the trip but that was about it. Oh, and it was clean but quite small... More

As always, the Hilton hotels offer excellence in room, dining areas, and lounge. The staff was not very friendly at this hotel, which was so different from the other places we stayed. It was clean, comfortable, and provided all the amenities. The breakfasts were good, but the fine dining was average . I would stay here again, but it wouldn't be... More

The hotel is not worthy of a four star rating. There was no provision of flannel wash cloths in the bathroom. The Television would not function initially. There were two remote controls, one of which had no batteries. We advised this at Reception and someone came to help and managed to make the TV work but we subsequently found that... More
